This is a general Q & A thread. Basically for the questions that doesn't require much discussion and can be easily solved. This is the thread also for users who have the fear to create his own new thread. (traumatized by past experience?)

note: feel free to create your tech thread tho. there's no rules for which kind of question have to be here.

Summary: If you dun feel like creating a thread just for 1 simple question, post it here.

Thanks ky_khor, for making this thread! :w00t:

Here's my question: A program that I use doesn't appear fullscreen on my PC. It didn't need to be installed. The program is "SRT to SSA Converter" and it's the only program that I have problem viewing. :w00t:

not every program allowed full screen especially those that using special skin (sonic/icq). maybe your program is one of them, plus no one knows about the program you mentioned.

there're many better program out there to convert .srt to .ssa and they are FREE.

There's definitely something wrong with the site. :w00t:

Arrghhh! What kinda setting should I use to make my GIF/JPG animation appear fast & beautifull!? I can only make it small. Though it doesn't work when I upload it on the internet. It doesn't play at all. :w00t:

Studio fs is cool... but at least it didn't use to support Firefox... try IE (unless if you use that  )
I use Animation Shop 3 for making gifs... it's pretty easy to use. And some weird version of Virtual Dub...

Q: Does anyone know of any free (or "free" ^_^) program that I can use to make OPVs... Windows movie maker is a bit too crappy (imo).

Free!? so far i never heard of any freeware so high end that can edit video other than split, join, re-encode + some simple transition.....

hints: internet has everything.

You use Virtual Dub to collect individual frames from a video file that you want to use for your gif. Virtual Dub doesn't actually make animated gifs. I find this is the easiest and fastest way to get a clip from a vid. You then take those frames you saved from virtual dub and import them to the program that you will use to make your animated gif.

I'm sorry if the image is too small but after you cut down the clip you want (my clips are usually 40 to 80 frames) you save them as "save image sequence", highlighted below. This saves the video clip as images from filename0001 to filename0040 or how ever many frames you have.

I can create frames, but the problem is what to set when making the animation?
Usually, the GIFs I made plays slow, unlike other GIF & JPGs I've seen. "-_-

Have you tried deleting every other frame? I sometimes remove all the even numbered frames if my gif is playing slow.

<---This avatar here I removed every other frame.

:cuts in with a new question:

umm is there a way of getting soft subtitles to get a black border in VLC? I load subtitles, they play perfectly. But they're all white o_0 I can't see anything when the video is bright

i'm looking for something similar to the -ffactor option from mplayer. I'm no good with VLC ^_^
