I'm not really into them detective/crime shows but I think the most brilliant casting ever was Ichiro as himself in an episode of "Furuhata Ninzaburo." I mean, the *actual* baseball player murdering someone and then trying to outwit Furuhata.
It's no wonder the show had monster ratings in its heyday.
