Sanrio here, and welcome to my thread.

I've written a couple of one-shots before, but this will be my 3rd fanfic and the first long-running one. I've always wanted to start a fanfic series, but there wasnt any good ideas in my mind until recently, an idea of a story appeared in my head and i wanna see it written out, so here it is! "wouldn't it be interesting to write a baseball fanfic with the H!P girls?" "how would they play and how would each of their characters reflect through the game?" "which position would each girl play?"

First off, i dont know much a whole lot about baseball, so dont worry even if you dont much about baseball cuz i wont be too hard on the technical terms. ive been reading a lot of H2 (an awesome classic baseball manga, recommend for the hardcore manga fans out there), and H!P sports fanfic seems to be a rare genre, so i thought i'd give it a try. There won't be no super powers nor future technology in it, the baseball game is just a legit game of sports, but with our favourite girls as the players on the field, it should be fun!

Baseball and H!P, crazy i know. The plot isn't nearly completed yet, i just got random ideas and scenes floating in my head right now. But i know i would forget it if i dont ever start, i will keep building thoughts as the fanfic goes on. The formats aren't confirmed yet, heck i might even change the thread title someday lol. For example, i wasn't going to put names in front of each dialog to indicate the speaker of the line originally, but i want to make this a dialog-based style fanfic, and i realized it'd be way too confusing given the amount of girls in the story, not to mention it'd be extremely awkward if they keep addressing each other's names in the dialog, so there it is.

I wasnt not sure how the idea of a baseball fanfic will be received here, but i guess it would at least be a change of pace for most of you reading and hopefully you guys would find it fun.


Please post and provide me with any ideas, thoughts, feedbacks, questions, anything that you've got after reading each update. I'll value every comment there is and they will help me improve and plan for the future of the fanfic. So finally, please do enjoy!






Fly High - a Baseball Fanfic

Part 1



It's still early in the morning but the birds are already up. Flying across the wide blue sky up high, casting shadows onto the field below. Sunlight shining through the several pieces of clean clouds. The breeze brings a scent of freshness. It's the perfect weather, for the perfect baseball game about to happen today.



*In changing room A of Hanshin Koshien baseball stadium*


Aichan: “This is harsh…”

Reina: “I know right? We’re just going to dominate the whole game, I feel bad for the Kids.”

Eri: “Haha, stop being so cocky, Reina. I Don’t think that’s what Aichan meant.”

Aichan: “Eri’s right, what I mean is, why are we playing baseball against the Kids to fight for which group gets a medley remix in the next winter concert? The reason seems invalid and this whole thing feels like raging a civil war within our big family…”

Eri: “Well another way to look at it, when was the last time we ever played against the kids as opposite teams? This will be totally fun!”

Reina: “But obviously another reason is the money. UFA is capitalizing this opportunity by releasing a DVD, special photo sets, jerseys, towels, gloves, balls, bats, maybe a DS game…”

Eri: “Heh, Reina said balls.”

Reina: “Shut up.”

Aichan: “They do that everytime for everything anyways, it’s reality being idols. But we’ve got another reason to be here… I heard the whole Hanshin Koshien Stadium is filled by fans to see the match. We cannot let them down and we must fight a good fight!”

Eri: "How did they manage to book the Koshien Stadium in the first place..... this place can fit over 55000 people!"

Risa: “Our leader is right, we are here for a baseball game and we will put up a good one. Alright, let's cut short this conversation because that’s not why we are in the changing room for. Let’s get changed into our baseball uniforms quickly and get to the strategy meeting with the coach...… say, where are our backups?”

Sayu: “Oh the S/mileage girls, they are playing water fight in the shower.”

Risa: “With their baseball uniforms on!?”

Sayu: “No… completely naked…”

Linlin: “Naked huh…… ah crap, someone hand me tissue please… my nose is bleeding.”

Junjun: “Haha here you go, Linlin. Hey, your bleeding better stop by the time of the game or else we’ll have to replace you before the game even starts.”

Linlin: “Thanks, Jun. Don’t worry, it’ll stop very soon, no way would I miss this game, this one is special… for us…...”

Junjun: “Yeah.… it is going to be very special. By the way, anyone seen Aika and Koharu? I can see that their uniforms are still in their lockers.”

Sayu: “I think I saw them went in naked to join the S/mileage girls.”

Junjun: “..….”

Linlin: “Ah crap, tissue please!”

*At the same time, in changing room B of the stadium*



Risako: “I can’t believe we are actually playing against our senpais in a few hours! Ohhh I’m so excited!”

Miyabi: “You seem confident enough. Why don’t you pass me some of your confidence too, I’m nervous as hell right now!”

Shimizu: “No worrys, Miya. Just play your best when you are on the field. We don’t necessarily have to win, all we want is to play a good game……”

Miyabi: “…… and show them what we are made out of, yes, I know you said that already. But as the Captain of this alliance team, wouldn’t you be the most pressured for victory?”

Shimizu: “Yes…… well….. no…. not really. Talking to most of you, it sounds like victory isn’t our main goal today, isn’t that right, sub-captain?”

Maimi: “Exactly, through this game, we will prove to our senpais that we are no longer the Kids, and we are able to take part of the responsibility in holding up the H!P name too! Though… we still want to win, and to
be honest, we do have a fair chance of victory. Our senpais better not underestimate.”

Shimizu: “That’s true, by strength and skill, we aren’t any weaker than our senpais.

Maimi: “And our practises have improved us even further, so we are ready for this game, isn’t that right, Chisa..… where did Chisato go, she was just here changing out of her clothes a moment ago.”

Airi: “After she took her clothes off, she ran straight into the shower naked and started a water fight with the others…”

Maimi: “And that’s why we are still Kids… I’m sure the senpais are too mature to be doing something like this… Uh-oh, we need tissue, Chinami’s nosebleeding!”

Miyabi: “Sigh… Saki-chan, do you think we’ll be alright?”

Shimizu: “It won’t be easy facing our senpais as opposite teams on the field, but looking at the spirits we have, this will be a good game, I assure you. We're going to fight a good fight, as Aichan would probably say. Okay, let’s pick up our pace and get changed into uniforms for the tactics meeting with the coach.”

Miyabi: “Heh, roger that, Captain!”







That will be the opening for now, next part to come will be the strategy meetings with their coaches. (Tiny spoiler: tsunku isnt the coach)

Good start to this fic, though quite why s/milage are having a waterfight in the showers is beyond me

Man MM can jsut scrape a team together cant they (thanks to a dramatic return of Koha it seems!) might be better that way though, some of the kids will have to be sitting on the bench

The reason is unimportant. The fact that they do is what matters! I would have preferred the rokkies but well, can't always have it your way.

I found it amusing so far!
It feels rather manga/anime with all the nosebleed and stuff.

A lot of emphasis on these shower wars. They should do a Bijou Gaku episode with that idea... Though I have to remove S/mileage to get a sense of harmony from that image.

maybe shower waterfights would be a great fanfic topic, but maybe next time.

Fly High - a Baseball H!P fanfic
Part 2



In the meeting room, a man has been waiting patiently for the past hour…

Koharu: “Sorry we’re late, we’re so sorry!”

Sanrio: “Koharu you say that every time but you never look sorry. So what’s the reason this time?”

Gaki: “…… All of us got involved in a water fight in the showers.”

Aika: “The s/mileage girls started it!... then they dragged us two in… then… we dragged everyone else in…”

Sanrio: “Wow, I can’t believe I waited an hour for such a stupid reason. This is ridiculous!”

Eri: “Coach, are you just mad because we didn’t invite you?”

Sanrio: “Ye….no.. no, I am mad because you girls have a big baseball game today and we need to get this strategy meeting going if you girls ever want to win!”

Reina: “There’s nothing to worry, we will totally dominate them!”

Sanrio: “Reina, we both know that it won’t be easy. We’re playing the H!P kids, and if you’ve ever seen them play, you’d know they aren’t any weaker than you girls are. They consecutively won the championship of Junior Idol Baseball in the several previous seasons. They just pwned all n00bz with mad skillz. I don’t know if you should be considered lucky that you play on a separately league because of the age difference. Now is the time for me to regret training them so well, sigh. And they have my co-coach on their side for the game as well who has got tons of tricks up his sleeves, so we can expect some surprises. Anyways, let’s get this par….meeting going. Oh, someone’s at the door, right on time. Kanon can you get it for me please?”

Mano: “…Hi everyone~ it's time for lunch, and your bentos have arrived!”

Sayu: "OMG YES!"

Sanrio: "Of course, we can't talk sports with empty stomachs, so let's fill ourselves first. Tempura Shrimp don for everyone! My treat (company paid)!"

Gaki: "Ayacho you took mine! They're all labeled.... which is weird considering they are all the same thing."

Yuuka: "Hey why does Eri-senpai's bento have two extra shrimps!? No fair!"

Aichan: "Linlin, stop removing the tempura batter! That's the best part!!!"

Junjun: "Hey are there any banana tempura don?"

...........

...........

Sanrio: ".... *nom nom*.... okay let's discuss while we eat. First of all, Mano Erina here, will be joining the team today. *nom* She's not bad, but she won't be starting, because second of all, I plan to have Morning Musume be starting and play most of the game if not the whole thing. It is always best to have a team who understands each other and have worked together for a long time together, and we can see such a chemistry from you nine girls here. Also, 9 starters, 9 musume, perfect! Any questions so far?"

Aichan: "So coach, does that also mean that we'll be using our standard formation as well?"

Sanrio: "That's correct. *nom* The standard positions seems to bring the best out of each of you, so there probably won't be any changes"

Ogawa: "How about us?"

Sanrio: "You smileage girls and Mano will be back-ups, as for where you girls will play..... well I haven't thought that far yet. Baseball is a dynamic sport after all, so we'll know when the time comes."

Junjun: "Will there be bananas?"

Sanrio: "No Junjun, we don't plan to play bananas."

Aika: "What's the name of our team? I mean, we've got Momusu, Mano and Smilage all in one."

Sanrio: "Good point, Aika, I also haven't thought of that yet, if anyone got any ideas, just shout it out anytime."

Ayacho: "How about Team S/morina?"

Gaki: "That sounds weird..."

Koharu: "How about Team Manorning-S/milerinage?"

Reina: "...*facepalm*"

Sanrio: ".........let's continue for now and worry about the team name later. So we are playing against Berryz Koubou and C-ute. They've always played together since years ago, and since they have more girls than the starting nine, they are used to switch their strategies up from time to time. We'll have to see what that crazy co-coach of mine comes up with this time. Alright, we will now go over the starters line up and our usual strategies......."

Shimizu: "Coach, are you sure about this starters line up?"

Momo: "Yeah... we've never tested this format out before... we don't know how well it will execute."

Toxic: "Don't worry, I understand the ability in everyone of you. Plus, since Sanrio is probably making guesses at my strategy right now, so I've decided that we should throw his tempo off, by begin the game with a surprise our little secret weapon. Sanrio... this is going to be fun...Muaahahaha...."

P.S. if anyone got any good ideas for the name of the Momusu Smileage Mano team, please let me know or else i'll go with Koharu's suggestion

Yes of course, I'm sure that why youre upset....

See, Eri agrees with me!....

I found the coach to be pretty funny.

Still I don't think its a good idea to write the dialogue like "Reina: bla bla. Koharu: Blerp." After five lines or so i didn't even read the names anymore. So at the end i was like "Oh, Koharu said that name?" But that could be just me.

Sengir you make a good point and i havnet figured out a way to get pass that =/ when there are like 10 girls talking at the same time, besides starting every line unnaturally like "as aichan just said..." "yes, maimi, i think..." lol

i guess ill go on with this method for now, but if anyone got any good ideas please let me know cuz im open to changes
