Holy crap on a stick... it's with my deepest regret to inform you guys that Kamei Eri, Junjun and Linlin will graduate from Morning Musume. I'll have to look at Tsunku's blog post about it again, but I don't know if they'll stay within Hello! Project or leave altogether.
Oh... and there will be a 9th gen audition.
I think I need a moment to process this. I actually feel kind of numb right now... This is too much.

Tsunku: The current members are all paying attention to this audition.

The finalists were chosen from amongst approximately 9,000 applicants nation-wide. Who are the candidates that advanced until the last round of the auditions?
Ikuta Erina (13 years old)
Erina: I thought it was impossible for me to take this, I'll do my best.
Tsunku: She has a little sister character, she does have it. Right now, looking at Morning Musume members, I think they're lacking a bit (that character). I think I want to have a character like that.
Suzuki Kanon (12 years old)
Kanon: Since I made it this far, I absolutely have the decision to do my best
Tsunku: She has brightness and a lively feeling. It's not that Morning Musume doesn't have that. She's been telling a short story until the end, she's got guts too. It looks like she's got hungry intentions (big aims). I think we really need something like that, she might be a raw material.

Sayashi Riho (12 years old)
Riho: My stomach really hurts.
Tsunku: She's very good in dancing, she's able to do it. And her facial expressions, if she's got power of expression, then she'll be good as a Morning Musume member. I have that feeling.
Narrator: Sayashi, who's learnt dance since she was 6 years old. The three judges that are watching her don't think she's 12 years old. She's showing her high-level dancing.
Mogi Minami (11 years old)
Minami: I feel really happy, but I'm also nervous
Tsunku: She cried when she was singing. I can't say this, but her level is inferior, she won't get support because of this. But this might be good... I think of Morning Musume when I see that / she makes me think of Morning Musume.

Otsuka Aina (12 years old)
Aina: I'm really nervous, but I must to do my best in order to get in. I want to do a good effort and do my best.
Tsunku: She has a strong 'little sister' character, but also a bit of a moe character. She's feminine too, really feminine. If we put the current Morning Musume members standing to each other a in line, there's no one that is the 'sexy' type. I think that's really interesting

Aina sings Everyday Zekkouchou (C-ute)
Tsunku: Right now, these five auditioners are all scattered / disconnected / not really an unity. But each of them have their own character. It's interesting.
Choreographer YOKO: Now, you all will dance a minute and a half of a song that you'll need to remember. It's important that you're able to be show your appeal passionately. Please be serious about concentrating in remembering the correct dance steps.

Voice trainer marron: I'm giving you a card with lyrics, please remember these lyrics today.
Narrator: C-ute's new single, Aitai Lonely Christmas. At the time of this audition, this song wasn't released. These five girls are the first ones to hear the song. Dancing and singing, those are the subjects for this audition.
The results of the audition are still undecided. Of course, the auditioners don't know what are the results. They're desperate to remember the given contents (dancing, lyrics).
Really quick in remembering the dance steps, flawlessly dancing, Sayashi Riho. Then, currently receiving the lesson, Otsuka and Ikuta are also really quick in remembering dance steps. On the other hand, without no experience in dancing, Suzuki and Mogi. Their bodies aren't that good at keeping in pace with the speed of the dance.
Teacher YOKO: Since Morning Musume is good at singing, and they're also people who can perform dances, that's the reason why you can't remember these things in a desperate way. Actually, right now, you can't do that. "Since I didn't do it, I don't understand / get it", you might that, but it's not the case, since I have the feeling you can all do this.
Aina: It's difficult...
Minami: I couldn't keep up with the pace at all.
Kanon: This is difficult. I didn't dance because it's difficult. I can't remember the dance steps.
Narrator: It's usual that they're not able to get it completely right. Which one will be chosen, which one won't be chosen. (...) There will be only one judge. The finalists are determined in practicing.

Saying things superficially, I guess... those kids have life in them, they have Morning Musume's future in them. Those are good worries, now. I saw their reactions too. They were like a "is it like this?" feeling. Umm, the current members are alright, they feel alright, but they're a bit "calm". So, this might become a good unit. This might become a good new group, I have that feeling. And the big announcement will be on the first date of the Hello Pro concert, on January 2nd, I think it's a good date to do that.

No. There's no video footage of that and no Egg has blogged or said something about it.
- Has it been announced how many girls will join Morning Musume?
No.
- Where will the audition footage be broadcasted?
On the Bijou Gaku episodes of December 16 and 23. December 16 episode only showed the five girls that seemed to be the finalists. The title of the December 23 episode is "9th generation audition Special". It's unsure wether ALL the episode will be dedicated to audition footage.
- Will more footage of the audition broadcasted anywhere other than those two Bijou Gaku episodes?
So far nothing has been said about that.
- Is anyone planning to sub the audition videos?
No subbing team or person has said anything about that.
- Where can I watch Bijou Gaku?
You can watch via Keyhole.
Bijou Gaku airs every Friday from 1:00 to 1:30 am (Japan time) on TV Tokyo (テレビ東京). They list Bijou Gaku as a show that airs at 25:00, that's why the episodes are on "Dec. 16" and "Dec. 23". However it's actually 1am of the next day.
Use Timeanddate to know when is that time in your area.

Open Keyhole and search through the list of channels until you find TV Tokyo. Then click "Watch"
