It looks like Karin has won the coveted time slot that had been held by Nacky for 10 years. She'll be succeeding 'Saki Nakajima's °C-ute Time' with her own solo radio show, which I think is a first for her.
I believe she only have regular radio appearance in WAJJ (rotating between JJ members) and Hello Drive (with Airi) before. So yeah, first solo radio show!
She mentioned a webtoon manga called Senpai wa Otokonoko, which is a romantic manga about a cross-dresser. She said that the characters fits her song "Kikakugai no Romance". I guess this more or less confirms that Kikakugai no Romance is indeed a gay-themed song.
======
Karin performed together with Yonemura Kirara (Ocha Norma) for a new Hello! Dream corner where a Kenshuusei collaborating with a senpai of choice to perform one song.
well... they've been doing it off and on for 19 years now...
(Ganbacchae & Boogie Train '03 are the first times I can think of, with H!P Kids as back dancers in the video)
I don't personally remember it, but the Internet says that Miyamoto herself did back-dancer duties for Mano Erina in some concerts (but not in videos, though Mano had a lot of Eggs in videos, Takeuchi, Fukumura, etc)
What I've learned about Japanese so far, is that you must first pay attention to these 2 things: Rule #1 and Context. After that, just pray they remember their high-school English class.
Karin had a sore throat and fever last Friday and an antigen test confirmed positive for Covid-19. As per protocol she has to self-isolate, so planned events for her single release had to be postponed.
She's being featured on Tokyo MX's "Artist#18 File" for four weeks, and in the second week, she covers YOASOBI's Yoru ni Kakeru as part of her single promotion.
The video will be viewable in the channel for a limited time only. TV version has different angle.
Contrast to Kiiroi, you can tell that the song is outside her comfort range, but I think she's done a great job there.
And last, they finally show us KarinxRuru duet of Ganbarenai yo from MSMW! The song was originally performed by J=J without Karin even though she hasn't graduated yet so this is some kind of redemption for her.
It's as good as one would expect from those two. The last chorus after the key change was amazing. The lines were sung solo so Karin's phrasing can be heard easily while Ruru adds her embellishment.
