Maasa in costume for the character Beatrice Areid in her next stage play, "The former hero who was called a failure, decided to live as he pleased because he was expelled from his parents' home" ( ).

Performances begin March 20. Also in the cast is AKB48 member Haruka Komiyama.

A belated happy birthday to Maasa! 

 

Her birthday events took place yesterday, July 6.

Maasa talked about the recent Berryz bus tour. She showed photos and videos that were taken by her and her manager.

 

She said it was Miyabi's idea to add Momochi's Yurushite Nyan song to the bus tour live setlist. Mama did not realize at the time that they were performing it on the date of Momo's graduation (June 30). She doesn't know if Miya knew about it, either.

At the end of the bus tour live, representatives of each of the four buses gave each of the girls a book containing message cards from the fans. Miya and Yurina cried when this happened. Maasa said she cried later when she read the cards.

Beginning on July 18 Maasa will appear in the play Irikura 2024 ~ Iredescent Clouds~, a sentai superhero musical.

Interesting that Maasa is an accidental idol but now she is one of the members who is carrying the Berryz's spirit.

Maasa has the starring role in the play The Curtain Rises, based on a popular novel and film.

It is about a high school drama club. Maasa has been joking about the fact that she is playing a high school student even though she is in her thirties. 

The role was originally going to be played by Yamagishi Riko, who had to withdraw for health reasons.

Performances have ended in Tokyo, but there will be one more in September in Osaka.

Maasa will have a solo FC event on October 5.

In December she will appear in the play 7 SEEDS ~ Spring Chapter~, based on a manga and anime. It is described as " a near-future sci-fi survival story".

Maasa appeared at the event dressed as the character Shampoo from Ranma 1/2 because she is excited about the new remake on Netflix.

She said she originally planned to sing Golden Chinatown, because Shampoo is Chinese, but she had to drop the song because she couldn't remember the lyrics.

The timing of this event was kind of unexpected and unusual for her, but she wanted to do one for fans before the end of the year, because she will be busy doing plays the next few months.
