I'm going to guess Momoha, Itsuki and maybe Yurika are the lead candidates to debut.
37th gen IMO is too young, so if it's anyone else they're coming from the 36th gen.

Will they be joining existing groups or is this a new KSS unit?

I'm happy to see the girls debut and wish them both the best.

 

But honestly, this is so disappointing. Fair enough Angerme did need new blood and Momoha would fit in there just fine, but MM is who needs the ace material now! It's so lame watching MM get all the backbencher KSS for the last ten years. Angerme already has Goto and has barely used her. 

 

Tsubaki makes me curious because I don't think they desperately need a new member right now. It makes me wonder if Ami might be preparing to leave (or someone else)

The only ones I can think of if we're talking singing ability, are the two 12ki KSS, but Maria added to the group in other ways. Other than them, all the KSS we had were: Mizuki, Duu, Sakura, Kaedii, Yokoyan, Mei. I'd argue these girls carried the group's performance more than some of the audition girls (though Kaedii was tragically underutilized). I know there have been better KSS who went to other groups, and I definitely share your frustration in that regard, but calling these girls backbenchers is a little extreme.

I'm not really talking about singing ability, more about existing popularity or hype behind them. Of the KSS in MM there are

 

Top Tier: KSS fans were desperate for a debut: Mizuki, Sakura, Kaede (even among these, I wouldn't say they were ever the it-girls of KSS. Compared to the likes of OG S/mileage, Miyamoto Karin, Danbara Ruru, Hamaura Ayano, I don't think there was as much hype behind them as KSS) 

 

Everyone below this level is who I'd consider backbenchers. And while I can see how that's harsh, I think it can be applied to most KSS who have passed through the program over the years. It doesn't make them bad idols, but I don't think adding a girl like that would be a good move right now. Adding a KSS who already had a large fandom behind her would be a good replacement for all the popular members who have left and bring positive hype to the group, which the most interesting events recently have been scandals and grad announcements. 

 

Mid tier: Widely liked but rarely raved about: Duu, Maria, Mei (these KSS had a lot of KSS fans saying stuff like "she's cute, she has potential, I don't expect her to debut soon but if she does, it wouldn't be a disaster" or maybe "she's soo cute, I hope she works on her skills and is ready to debut soon!" or "even though she's not the best at [insert skill] she would be a great fit for [insert group name]"

 

^^ Supporting these girls is also the heart of what it means to be a KSS fan. Everyone supports the top tier girls but this is where the really fun discussions take place.  

 

Bottom Tier: Who's that? LinLin (through no fault of her own), Akane, Yokoyan

 

[for clarity: these tiers are regarding their popularity while eggs/KSS. I don't think LinLin, Akane, and Yokoyan are "bottom tier MM members" just that they weren't all that popular as trainees]

Angerme's is like a "black hole" for new members with strong individualities like Kassa, Funa or Goto, They all disappear mixed into all the noise and anarchy that characterizes the group. Thats why is the last group i want for that kind of Kss girls.

haha yes, good comparison and reference! Goto seems to me faded away in the ANGERME shadows.... Had high hopes but she isn't prominent in the latest songs.

At this moment I still don't understand why UFP does not add any KSSs who are either popular (people want them to debut) or sing well. I mean, before we had Maa-chan and Fuku-chan carrying, now when Odasaku is gone, who's gonna carry the group?
