I'm so in love with this song. So Platinume Era. I really need to see more of the choreography.

The MV is very simple and yet very pretty but they could have used this fake town in snow more. 

 

Also, is it a Homare center? It would have been better to have Reina with Akane is these dress shots. I don't even understand why this part is there. x)

Lol the dress scene is killing me. It's so out of place. Also, what is going on with Oda? She barely gets anything in this single. Is she being punished because of the 'scandal'?

Woooooow it's a Homare-Mei-Akane-Reina quad center?

 

Again, creative use of MV setting elements so it doesn't look boring. But there were scenes where the shot jitters - they didn't even make an effort to stabilize?

 

Amazing song. Though I think this is a B-side that was just given an MV at this point. It doesn't have the pull you'd want to lure new fans in.

 

And clearly, management still thinks highly of Rio by putting her in center on those theater chair shots and center visibility along with Ako and Haru in the first chorus choreo - it's like foreshadowing the future of MM will be these three at the center. If the prior stuff didn't happen we'd probably have an A-side where she'll get Mizuki levels of solo lines.

 

Also the MV kind of foreshadowed the graduations. Mei's solo scene had orange and golden yellow colors, Homare's solo scene had hues of blue. Like, the management kind of knew everything when they shot this?

 

And crazy that they put Maria and Kitagawa in one frame in that rotating shot, with Oda blocking them in the middle. LOL

 

Also another complaint, where the heck is Rairi in all of this?????????????????????????????? She should be given better treatment the next release.

^Yeah Rairi got a solo line in both songs but she's not that visible in general...x) I hope she'll inherit some lines after the graduations.

I love this MV, too!

 

But there are a lot of things about it that make me curious. 

 

In the HomarexAkanexReina shots, Akane and homare play the role of two rival actresses who are competing for a role, and Reina is the paparazzi. Wouldn't it have been more fitting for Homare and Reina to switch roles? Or even have Akane as the paparazzi since she has her Necchin film thing. 

 

I took the time to pause every shot to read the text of the newspaper, and other than the headline, and the caption, the rest of the newpaper stays the same across shots lol.

 

I have lot's of thoughts about how the line distribution might have been different if Kitario-gate hadn't occurred. I wonder if any solo's were originally intended for her and changed last minute.

I think it's a combination of Oda being punished and the management changing direction. Since Ikuta leadership began they've been going for much more equal line distribution. But I also think the fact Oda has been getting literal crumbs recently has to do with the scandal. But I'm sure she'll get something big for her final single. I've been praying that we get the return of the graduation solo b-side with her, because she's the member that warrants it most. 

 

 

While I love this single and new direction to bits. It is pitiful as a send-off for Akane and Reina. A b-side focussed on them (even with them just covering another MM song, I'm not asking for the moon here!) would have gone a long way. I hope the concert kicks ass.

You wouldn't guess Akane and Reina are graduating, by the line distribution. And it's the hater in me, but I didn't like that long spoken part with Haruka.

This is a clear Homare-Mei center. If anything, Haruka is number 3.
What a crappy send-off, Kaede and Chisaki got much better grad singles. This single made me feel bad even for Kitario, at least she got a good line in Teka for the line distribution videos. and is in a pretty dress in Lamentazione.
Man, they could had given the first two lines to Akane and Reina and it could’ve sufficed to show them as the clear centers. Bittersweet victory for Homare’s first center since Lovepedia.

Song is great. They’re showing us whats coming 15ki front line with 17ki as second bananas ala ai-reina-eri-risa. Rairi is their/our clear main visual so theres that. If you want to compare to platinum, Miki is in a similar position as Yossie, and Maria, Koharu.

Homa grad foreshadowing? 

 

This single is kinda meh. Compared to the last one, I kinda disliked Akaruku Ii ko because of the instrumental, though at least it had a catchy melody, but at the same time I was completely obsessed with Ki ni Naru Sono ki no Uta. Now I feel like both songs are very "B-side." They're well produced but they don't grab you. Teka is more interesting productionwise but it's too repetitive, while Lamentazione is very generic H!P.

 

The MV for the latter is pretty though. When was the last time we had a winter themed MM MV? Was there ever one at all?

The song is definitely good.

 

The music video is pretty good too (with the exception of the Akane x Reina x Homare part, which many of you said is so out of place). Love the wintery scene, was hoping they did more with that.

 

And they didn't try to hide Kitario in the music video.

I love Lamentazione! Listening to it feels so natsukashii, it combines Platinum era vibes with a little bit of earlier and more recent vibes because of the rap part. I love the setting and the outfits in the music video. I don't know who decided to give Mei-chan a mullet haircut but they should be suspended and I hope it's just a step towards her having short hair soon which I would love to see

 

What annoys me too are all those things that have been mentioned already. It feels like there are such obvious chances for giving Akane and Reina a good sendoff (the opening lines, the actresses roles etc.), but they decided against it. I mean, it's ridiculous that there is a rap part that doesn't have Reina as the main rapper and there's a huuuge speaking part that is not spoken by Akane. WHY?

 

I'm sad to see Kitario leave like this. And I hope they don't do the same for Oda when she's graduating. I'm kinda annoyed by the fact that they treat the members like this in singles as punishment. 

 

Also, I feel like this song too isn't directed at a younger audience or new fans, but is supposed to cater to longtime fans. It feels to me like management wants to get the longtime fanbase excited for what's to come by (finally) getting away from the EDM heavy songs. Like they're saying: Yes, MM is changing a lot again, but LOOK, it's the music you guys have been craving for years, so please stay and support us! And it seems to work, at least from what I've been seeing in the Youtube comments.

I miss the EDM songs. There has been a series of incredible creations, simply magical for those who appreciate this style. A real knockout every time, and a lot of emotion for me over the years. Yet I also really love the Platinum era, just as much, and the new offerings are fantastic too. Basically, I would have loved to have both styles at the same time, each with its own A-side. That's actually a little bit what we've had recently.
