Boycotting or less events, loss of members... The sales are well not bad, we all knew it can be worse. But the mm standard at the time is better

 

KitaRio might be back with the next single release (I guess we all know they won't release a new single this soon. We could be lucky getting a release at the end of the year.... sadly.... these times has come) and then we'll see the sales results with her

Rio doesn’t have 20k worth of pull for her fans to be boycotting anything.

This single’s promo is a joke, the re-shooting really took a toll on the budget looks like, and left nothing for marketing.

The group’s reputation run is just bad even among the fans, of course this single was not going to sell well, I was just hopeful.

Most artists here in France would kill to sell 100,000 singles, and even more after 25 years of career... We have to keep things in perspective.

^ The only perspective I see being discussed here is that the single is underperforming compared to previous MM releases, not compared to other artists. Also, France and Japanese idol culture, two completely different ways of music consumption. Apples to oranges.

I'm not worried much about sales right now. There are artists whose sales are less than 50k but still have shows at big arenas. Well, MM is not a normal artist, I know, but there are things they should focus on besides single sales.

Could be a good comparison IF it were the same lineup from 1997, but it's not. 

 

100k is already a good achievement considering they've barely made above 100k in the two previous singles. 85-90k on Oricon would be ok I guess, but should be a wake-up call for UF for up their ante and stop being so complacent with Morning Musume. Also the current Oricon numbers are higher than the single when Maa was on medical leave and they released Brand New Morning / Jealousy Jealousy so...

I feel like theres a curse where if I love a single it will sell badly... For the sake of the group I'll try to have harsher standards from now on...
