FINALLY! We have a date.

Now, it's time to properly promote the group UPF!

As the group is part of the winter tour cast, we could get preview of the new songs in late january-beginning of february.

While it's good news, I'm super frustrated with how slow things are going. This group was announced in 2023, and the seeds were being sowed in 2022! Yulia has been in H!P for almost 7 years at this point! It just feels like being a H!P fan is an act of masochism at this point!!

(I do wonder if they want to nab a girl from the current audition. If that is the plan, I don't see why they can't just give them a single anyway and add this new girl later. Waiting around for this debut is torturous)

MM ~ Nonaka Miki, Kaga Kaede ANGERME ~ Sasaki Rikako J=J ~ Takagi Sayuki, Danbara Ruru

it seems to be this way when BEYOOOOONDS and OCHA were forming, for whatever reason they're taking a while to get them started

I feel like with beyooooonds they had an excuse because it truly felt like they had no idea what they wanted to do with them at the time when Takase, Ichioka, and Kiyono's debuts were announced. Ocha Norma's wait was annoying to me but I hoped it was just a fluke. Nope, I guess it's just the norm now....

My thoughts too!

While I am very happy we finally have a date, I am frustrated seeing the timespan... Really wanna know why they slowed down the whole debut from summer 2024 till spring 2025! If they don't add more members I don't get the reason.

Just for kicks I went and checked this all out:

Feb 3, 2013 Juice=Juice formed -> Sep 11, 2013 major debut
Nov 5, 2014 Country Girls formed -> March 25, 2015 major debut
Jan 2, 2015 Kobushi Factory formed -> Sep 2, 2015 KF major debut
April 29, 2015 Tsubaki Factory formed -> Feb 22, 2017 TF major debut
May 5, 2017 KSS debut announcement -> August 7, 2019 BEYOOOOONDS debut
July 11, 2019 1st KSS Unit -> July 13, 2022 OCHA NORMA debut
June 29, 2022 2nd KSS Unit -> March 29, 2025 Rosy Chronicle debut

So approximately:
JJ: 7 months
CG: 5 months
KF: 9 months
TF: 22 months
BY: 28 months
ON: 36 months
RC: 33 months

So something seems to happen in between Kobushi's and Tsubaki's debuts. Of course, TF was getting their crappy indies releases so it was only with Biyo that we spent a year or more getting nothing (although in their case that continues after their debut). I suppose if you account for OCHA possibly being extended due to covid happening in the middle, you could still make the argument that they have been steadily getting longer.

Anyway while I am excited for this (and especially for baby Yulia finally getting out of KSS), I hope we're done with the new groups for a while. There'll be seven now, five of them are now immortal generational groups, Juice and Biyo barely release anything, and looking at the dates above, there's been a new group in some stage of development nearly continuously for the last decade. I think it's time to take a breath

(But also, to give Mifuru a single dammit.)

To be fair the whole J=J release schedule has been hindered by Mifu and now Risa's absence.

MM on the other hand has no excuse.

I think the reason Rosy Chronicle gets late debut is that H!P is in financial disaster. The budget spent on creating a new group is not cheap. If each H!P group releases like one single per year, I'm not surprised Rosy gets late debut. Also, if OCHA NORMA still looks like the group in debut without a solid fanbase right now, I'm worried about Rosy's future.

After debut, the group needs to be very active in order to survive. Just releasing one single per year without additional songs (digital singles or bonus songs in any forms) is a red flag.

I'm fairly certain they didn't debut this year due to unfavorable odds of winning Best New Artist.

H!P is rolling in money. I invite anyone to do the math of ticket price x number of seats x 2 shows per day =

Total Single sales profit <  1 Budokan/Yokohama Arena Performance profit

If anything creating a new group in H!P is relatively inexpensive for the simple fact that they share with the other established H!P groups. Revenue won't be high but expenses will be super low. They'll be profitable in 6 months to a year.

Best New Artist is also the factor. There are ILLIT and especially ME:I as nominees this year. I dare say to you that even MM is nowhere as popular as ME:I. Rosy needs to make sure to nail that award next year. Getting that award does not ensure doing well during later years, but not getting that award will ensure that the group will be in a slump for a long time before picking up steam again.

Anyways, if H!P is making more money than for instance KawaiiLab (which manages FRUIT ZIPPER and CUTIE STREET) or Stardust (Tokimeki Sendenbu is currently active), then it's time to demonstrate that to us by letting the groups frequently be on social media (in any forms), and ensuring that the debut MV gets at least 5M views (even a low-budget MV can get that number of views if everything is executed appropriately). Money should be spent to make sure that Rosy has a strong debut, not just "Oh, we're another idol group under H!P whose Morning Musume USED TO BE well known". The same principle applies here: there's no guarantee that the group will do well with the strong debut, but there's a guarantee that the group will do badly without a strong debut. Rare exceptions may occur (Tsubaki Factory's Konya dake and ANGERME"s Taiki Bansei), but I don't rely on that, and Yume Miru 15 sai is a strong debut song.

^^ THIS :c18: also maybe Rosy should release singles with one A-side each like 2-4 times a year (similar to what many HelloPro groups did up until 2013 or so - afaik many newer non-HelloPro Japanese groups like Atarashii Gakko and f5ve and Travis Japan only have one A-side on all of their singles as well) and only release double A-sides if there are anime/video game tie-ins (quite similarly to Naniwa Danshi and 2009/10-era Berryz Koubou)...

and btw perhaps Rosy could be the first current HelloPro group on Spotify upon debut? with that any A-sides could be released first on it (and other digital streaming platforms) the same day their MVs come out on YouTube before the digital SP edition on the physical single release date so :ph34r:

So they're going to release a photobook when they haven't published any music yet. Rosy's releases timing is crazy.

My wish for 2025 is that Rosy Chronicle wins Best New Artist. Their debut was delayed so much, while in the end ME:I didn't even win the 2024 edition ... It's not even ILLIT ...

With this delayed start in idol life as a group I appreciate everything they do and release! They have "so much" unreleased songs, it's heartbreaking for me to not listen to them.

I saw on X some preview pics and I love them.
