To tell you the truth I took it for granted reading it in some blog that reports AKB’s news (or rumours), thought it was already yesterday’s news, but checking other forums, nobody seems to mention it. So right now I have some doubts. A verified account looks like this:

The thing is that there isn’t any link to her account… On Watarirouka’s blog, Mayu also mentions twitter but is her on team PB and team YJ accounts…

Yuko’s entry is from 2010-05-03 14:06:51, so Mayu would have to be sooner than that posting. The bulk of those entries on PB/YJ are from 2010-05-02. There is one that could be hers on Team YJ twitter on the same day as Yuko’s entry, but the hour is 5:04 PM.

What I found stranger about that account wasn’t how ‘cheap’ it looks, but the amount of people ‘she’ is following and the number of tweets (1347 when I’m writing this). The second part is less problematic if you check at what speed is ‘she’ tweeting and that she is engaging screaming back things to her followers, so really if Mayu is addicted to twitter it would look that way (with that amount of people she is following she almost have a constant flux of tweets to read any moment, and yes the stranger thing of it all is that she can follow other people and interact with them when management is almost always protecting her…). The other part, well, even if we suppose that is she doing her own account, well you cannot find her on that Watarirouka image, which you can read both as a sign of it being true (she doesn’t care) or not (she is one of the more conscious girls about her own image (just check her own photos on Watarirouka’s blog)). Also the account says “Mayuyu_bot” and twitter is full of bots (even AKB bots, just checked Kayo Noro, Jurina, Yukirin, Matsui Rena, etc.) but you can read it also as a joke about the cyborg thing. In theory at least, you can’t make a fake account as if you were a singer, politician, etc. But it happens, the SNSD girls in Korea have lots of fake accounts, but the thing is that you denounce those accounts and they are taken down (even if I follow an account that links every entry on AKB’s ameblog). I know at least one case in my own experience, a philosopher, so if it was fake, I think AKS would have already complained about it (I mean it even links to Watarirouka’s blog something other bots don’t do, is not somebody making Mayuyu style responses for fun). The easiest way to know in this case would be how many questions ‘she’ has answered about her ID, checking out what she is telling she is doing with what the group or her official blog says she is doing or that some picture was uploaded with Mayu or other AKB members on it, you know something you can’t “fake”. But I can’t tell you about it, because I didn’t follow her when I posted it yesterday (‘she’ was going to overflow me with her tweets) and didn’t add her to Reader or anything, so when I did the last one today, the RSS feed didn’t went much further than what I already can see (to many entries…) so I don't know when it started. So I don’t know. She doesn’t mention it on her last blog entry but truth being told, you have to remember when was the last time that Mayuyu posted just one entry on almost two days. Let’s see what happens with it.

The "Kojiharunyan" account was posted on her blog - this is what a friend told me - yet it's not marked as "Verified".

I think if it's a real account (mayuyu's) then it will probably be announced officially as so - since it's about PR - and popularity. I just don't see why one would not announce something related to ones activities.

And yeah, the bot account seems to follow an aweful lot of people - compared to Team YJ/PB, Tomoomichan and Kojiharu's account status.

As much as I like the idea of Mayu pretending to be a bot pretending to be Mayu, you can safely skip this account. This is how it starts and when did it start.

See how the first three tweets are responses and they are posted “via Hootsuite”. Everything that comes next is posted “via API” (by the way check this: http://apiwiki.twitter.com/FAQ). That is just the application you are using to tweet, but what I say is that the style is different (even if you check with a translator those three first entries, they are like “I’m going to start doing this”). And after having it on reader for some days I can see the loops. It’s not only that it always have two responses to other people (except this one above), the messages are blocks of text that appear regularly from beginning to end without changes. They are even easy to detect, check the ones with “Ipod”, “DVDBox”, “Nagoya”, “TokyoDomeCity”, “BGM”, “KISS”, “333m”, etc. (many of the other messages are also repeated without changing a punctuation mark from start to this day, you repeat yourself everyday but you change it a bit if only for your moods). Regardless, Mayuyu is my FAVOURITE PERSON IN THE WORLD and I gave her over $100 worth of votes (and I'm an unemployed 16-year-old so that was pretty hard). So it's not like I don't care. 8D

Also I don't think she'll change much by the time she's 17 since she's 16 right now.
