It has been officially announced that Morning Musume's next single will be a cover of the Pink Lady hit "Pepper Keibu." The decision stemmed from Ai Takahashi and Risa Niigaki's appearance in NTV's biographical drama special "Hit Maker: Yu Aku Monogatari," in which they played the popular '70s duo.

The "Pepper Keibu" cover goes on sale September 24. The new version is said to be more danceable than the original, and the music video will feature all nine Morning Musume members dancing in Pink Lady outfits. The coupling song for "Pepper Keibu" will be a cover of another song written by Yu Aku - Hiromi Iwasaki's 1975 hit "Romance."

Then on November 26, the group will release a Yu Aku tribute album called "COVER YOU," supervised by Hiroshi Itsuki, who joined Up-Front Agency earlier this year. The album includes a cover of "Izakaya," originally a duet between Itsuki and Nana Kinomi, but this time Itsuki will be paired up with Ai Takahashi instead.

Wohoo!! FINALLY. I was sure there would be something released for the concert tour. But I'm really glad that it's confirmed now . I hope it will be a more happy and crazy song this time. Haven't seen that for a long time from MM now . It's weird since this lineup definitely got more of the cuteness/genkiness than sexy (just look at the Mickey Mouse song for proof ). And of course I hope there will be more spread lines this time. Especially more lines for Risa and Eri that have been proving themselves to have improved a lot and being able to sing well live. So, of course Ai-chan will have more lines than the other girls, then spred it equally between Risa, Eri and Reina and also make sure that the other girls gets some real lines and just not shouting/harmonizing.

It's still possible they will leave skip some song though. They've done that before... Especially since it looks like there won't be any album release before the next spring tour. I believe they would like to start promote it when they're on tour. So we whould be prepared to may get even another single after this one before the next album release.

i'm excited what it will sound like. i hope that every member will be able to get a singing line alone, like in the new Berryz and °C-ute songs.
i hope that there'll be a preview next time. it shouldn't take so long as it took for the °C-ute song, for example.
i really hope there'll be so much Reina solo line's again.. but i also want every member to sing.
let's hope the PV is not like the first Resonant Blue one-only danceshot.
i'd like to see a PV like Hyokkouri-Hyoutanjima or Koko ni Iruzee again. a one where there aren't only close-ups and dance-shots.

C-ute is kind of a little less popular than Morning Musume.
With a group like Momusu Tsunku has to think a little bit harder when organising lines. Not to mention C-ute are less well-known, I doubt anyone other than a full-blown wota could name each member, and they'd buy it whatever.

Tsunku *tries* to hook other people in by having the better singers (and coincidentally the members who have the most influence, members who are more well known; a.k.a. Koharu and Ai) have bigger parts.

Then the b-side is for everybody. It's a marketing technique, it seems to have been working... I think he should try it just once to see what would happen (I think Resonant Blue was going a LITTLE too far) but perhaps he doesn't want to take the risk.
