I've seen her in Orange Days, Swing Girls, Nodame Cantabile, and currently watching her drama Last Friends. She's such an amazing actress! I think she's the best Japanese actress I've seen in a long time (or maybe ever?). I think she fits her roles well, almost chameleon-like.

I'm currently on a Juri kick, too! I discovered her through Swing Girls, and didn't even realize she was Nodame (which I just finished watching a couple weeks ago ). Now I'm watching Last Friends, which she's absolutely amazing in! She's definitely a top class actress.

すぐ近くのスタジオで撮影をしていた上野樹里ちゃんが、私の歌うとこを観にきてくれて、その後楽屋に挨拶にきてくれたのです！

そして、なんと、私のファンだとおっしゃってくださったのです！

なんともったいない！ああもったいない！ありがたやありがたや！

新しいアルバムをいつも車の中でも聴いてくださっているとやらで！

一番好きなのは「テイク５」だそうで！

I've only seen her in Nodame Cantabile and now in Last Friends, but I'm already impressed. It's amazing how one actress can play two completely different roles! And yeah, I agree, she looks good in short hair too.

Just watched Warau Michael and although full of a half baked plot it was a watchable movie in a very Japanese quirky sort of way. Here's a few screenshots.



Adapted from a manga Juri enters a prissy girls school after being adopted by her rich long lost older brother. Not sure how much more to explain without giving away too much.

Will probably watch her in Last Friends and Lost Time Life as soon as they're finished subbing and definitely in Kung Fu Kun. Her in a movie with Mari Yaguchi might be too much to handle though.

ahh... i only have the last special episode of nodame cantabile left to watch. gonna miss that dorama, it was so damn hilarious! especially nodame. definitely one of my absolute favourite jdoramas so far.
and i heard she's actually playing the piano herself in the dorama. well, i saw she did some, but did she play all? some of those pieces were like... unreal. *me is jealous of concert pianists*

just started watching Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi yesterday, watched the first ep with Ueto Aya. looking forward to see ep 4 with Juri (although more to see Homaki in ep 2 ).

and i'm definitely gonna watch Last Friends when it's finished (as in when all the eps are subbed, i know the last ep aired yesterday).

As for Rainbow Song... it was good. A bit depressing, but definitely a must watch for Juri fans!

I agree with you roon, she is chameleon-like, and cute! Last friends is my first J-drama and now i am hooked. Although i still have 2 more episodes to watch, plus the Special. So while waiting, i watched all of Nodame Cantabile (and also read a lot of the manga as i watched too). It really is quite amazing how she can play two very different characters... I am definitely going to watch more of her work.

The Jdorama.com thread for Ueno Juri is constantly filled with pictures, so check there. I would advise against watching the Last Friends special though... it was such a waste! I watched it live, and I wish I hadn't.
