Thanks for the captures Matt.
I must say that Aya has some of the most amusing expressions I've ever seen.
I'd imagine you time it just right to get the best shot of it, but still.
I'm surprised your strips are used more often for comic uses.

And the scary one really is scary.
I've seen trannies that look better

:( True. Hisamoto Masami (久本雅美) or "Machami" ain't exactly a beauty queen by any means. But she's a pretty funny comedienne, and believe it or not, probably one of the most popular female entertainers in Japan (according all of those surveys and polls they take in Japan.). Think 'Whoopi Goldberg', and Whoopi ain't exactly a beauty queen either. :D

I love Hisamoto. She certainly ain't pretty, but her lack of etiquette sometimes and her ability to make the guests feel welcome and talk is something that Aya can learn a lot from. And Aya and Hisamoto seem to get along very well.

And here are the first pics from the Double Rainbow DVD

^ and it's on the tracker! :( here: Matsuura Aya Concert Tour 2007 Autumn - Double Rainbow.

and so are the Bishoujo Nikki DVDs! <3 man, she looks so small in those. :respect:
Bishoujo Nikki DVD I and Bishoujo Nikki DVD II. i'm not sure what the difference of them are... wiki.theppn.org says that it aired from 2000-10-02 to 2001-03-30. that's ~6 months = ~180 days, take away the weekends and it becomes ~128 episodes. the first DVD contains 82 episodes and the second 60 episodes. that's about 15 too many. am i just bad at counting, or? just thought there was too many episodes for that short span of time... ^_^

so, anyone know who starred in Bishoujo Nikki III? (Miki was in Shin Bishoujo Nikki, which i guess was counted as II.)

I bought the Double Rainbow DVD last night and watched it after I got home. I loved it, it was like being back at the concert. Since nothing changed (costumes, set, set list, etc.) even though it was filmed in Tokyo I almost felt like I was back in the Osaka concert. The thing I've noticed about Aya is that she really seems to enjoy herself out there. It looks like she has a ball. And luckily the costumes weren't as terrible as some concerts. I really like the Double Rainbow CD. Hikkosenai Kimochi is my favorite song from the CD, I love the almost-military-style rhythm. Just wanted to share my thoughts on the DVD, I was smiling the whole time. And I had a better seat than I did at the actual concert ^^;

P.S. Which concert had the tribble costume and "When the Saints Go Marching In" leading into The Bigaku. I'd like to look for it on DVD. Love that intro.

That would be Matsuura Aya Concert Tour 2006 Aki ~Shinka no Kisetsu...~.
An excellent concert and still my favourite.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try to buy the DVD. I stumbled across used copies of both her single V collections for a dirt cheap price here in Japan. I've got the Double Rainbow DVD as well as her 2003 Ayaya Hit Parade DVD. My collection is small but you can't have too much Aya goodness!

What baffles me is the lack of promotion going on for the concert DVD. No radio appearances, no promo messages anywhere. No TV appearances scheduled. Okay, there's the HP tour still going on, but most of this stuff could have been produced beforehand...

Btw I have little to no time until Monday workwise, but I'll be back in force then.

In my opinion there hasn't been a lot of promotion for the Double Rainbow CD at all. This seems like a quiet release for her. But it's still a good album I think.
