That was so great to watch.

Makes me quite excited for the next senbatsu elections (if there is one, knowing how Akimoto likes surprises..), I feel she has been getting a lot more exposure lately. She has been taking advantage of G+, easily one of the most active users and her posts constantly hit the 500 comment limit.



Keep on going Sakiko! Or how did she ask Yuria to call in recent Shukan AKB - Sakippo/Sakiccho.

I could watch Sakiko play the piano forever. She uploaded a video of her playing on g+ a while back and I think I watched it about fifteen times in a row. She did really well here, I caught a couple of slips, but she remained composed and did a great job.

I also couldn't help but laugh every time I saw Takajo in this video. She looks so tense, so short of breath every time they show her.

Do I understand AkiP aka Yasusu-sensei correctly that this is an announcement for Sakiko's solo album:

I guess it will be piano music. Sounds interesting. Supposedly new songs, but also AKB48 hit songs are to be part of it, if I understand it correctly. Also AkiP wishes some influences of African folk music, again: if I understand it correctly.

The cover and jacket is supposed to be designed by the AKB Art Club.

And a release is targeted for the summer.

Yes, the talk of solo album for Sakiko was mentioned some time ago (resulted in plenty of congratulations for her on G+), later revealed to be on Pony Canyon label, though nothing more was mentioned in terms of release date or anything more detailed.

I am quite excited for that, and hope there's a wide variety of material. And to think that AKB Art Club is involved too now is quite awesome. Really shows how many things can spring out of G+ as inspirational source!

"Had meeting for Matsui Sakiko solo album. He must be very busy, but the composer and arranger Hattori Takayuki has voiced several complaint about this, and I accepted those gladly.

Basically there will be instrumentals of AKB48 hit songs, also “Anthem of Gugutasu* Republic”, “Anthem of Utsui Ken’s Kaatsu Training”, “Anthem of ggrks**”, “Anthem of Mune Netsu***”, etc.
I hope “Anthem of Gugutasu Republic” could sound like Afrika ethnic music.

CD jacket will be done by AKB art club.

The release date is around summer, perhaps.

*Gugutasu = abbreviation from Google (read as ‘guguru’ in Japanese) and Tasu (how you read ‘+’ sign in Japanese)
**No idea about ggrks
***Mune netsu = literally ‘fevering chest’, a condition where your heart feels like burning with indescribable emotion or passion towards something."
