Not sure what to think about this. I got over Megu's departure months ago... So the new versions = good? Unsure.

Berryz Koubou = 5 Years = Pure Best Album.
C-ute = 3 Year = Best Album. indeed, it's not a best album.

For Berryz there's was at least some songs that I would have appreciated to get to hear new recordings of. C-ute however is as Nouciel say so new so I doubt it will sound very different. To me it will just be less awesome because there is no Megumi.

Often when I hear/see something with Megumi I might get a bit sad, but usually of course glad because she was freaking great, so I do want her to be on this. An album like this feels like a sort of tribute collection to what they have accomplished up till now and by that I believe we should also homage Megumi for what she did for the group while she was still around.

I wonder if she actually had a say on if she wanted them to record new versions or not. She did after all leave to get out of this business and focus on having a normal life. To me it feels like that was more important for Megumi than for Maiha (for whom they kept the old recordings). I mean recording new versions of the song takes some time, but I'm also sure it on the same hand will generate more sales, so it will probably weigh up for those expenses.


By using the term "new version" would it be naive to believe that they might actually change the songs in some ways more than just giving Megumi's line to other girls?

^I know Megumi was my Favorite Member from the whole H!P and after her resign i was really upset and sad. But i think that's because she wasn't there who they had their Major Debut, and i think she will not anything to do with this afterall IMO.
She was IMO the most different Idol from all H!P Kids, she had a cool, fresh attitude that was bringing °C-ute a quite different Image.

On the other hand since it's just an a-sides collection everyone will agree with the tracklist I would have also liked a different tracklist in the Berryz Best album, and I know many others disagreed with the songs choice as well.

^ ^ You know since Megu was obviously the center of attention in C-ute, it was obvious she was going to be THE frontgirl if she had stayed. It's starting to seem kind of interesting to me to listen how the songs would sound without her. That's, of course, only assuming that these new recorded versions = sans Megu.

Another thought: If new versions = no Megu, then I can't imagine the girls playing previews in radio shows. So we'll only listen to them when the actual CD comes out. The yamano site states that the release is 8/12 but that will prolly change later.
