Just got back to Wisconsin.

I'll keep this extremely short. H&A were super good. It was awesome to be around other people who knew what all this stuff is about. They played 3 new songs which were super good; MoMusu covers, which were great. Was pretty much dead center, only two/three people in front of me, and all were short, so I could actually see. It was just really, really f-ing awesome to see members of H!P in real life. Super amazing. They look just as good irl as in pics.

Was awesome. That is all.

XD

Well... I'll edit this. As for no jumping...? I was jumping through a good portion of all the songs... no one said anything to me. And pretty much every single person around me was singing the words along to the MoMusu songs they did. It was amazing. I had the impression that no one knew who they were, but it was totally opposite. So. Freaking. Cool.

And I'll put my pic with the big H&A's.... The expression on my face is weird... I asked some mom to take my pic, and didn't seem happy about it....
Posted Image

Also... the singing of Happy Birthday to Yossie was awesome. It sounded like everyone said "Yossie" instead of "Hangry" as it said on the projection behind the stage. I thought that was really cool.
And they walked out with American flags over their backs at one point and were like "We love America!!!" Hahaha... I don't know why I thought it was so funny.

ALSO! One of the new songs... the chorus is EXACTLY like Baby, Koi ni Knock out!!! I forgot to mention that! When they were playing it I was like "Wait... are they doing a PetitMoni song??" and this was three or four songs before the MoMusu covers, so it was really confusing.... But... it sounded great.

EDIT #7(?)
This girl was super cute looking at the H&A guys:

^ They performed three new songs. Plus the two MoMusu covers. The only song from the mini-album they didn't play was WallFlower, and I was down with that. And they played Kill Me/Kiss Me twice; the 2nd time as the encore.

So... it was a nine song song set if you don't count the encore... ten if you do. <_<

three new songs? I have SadisticDance, but two others?

I'm down with more H&A. They should just come to Anime Detour (in Minnesota) next year. Anime Detour was literally a week before Sakura-Con. NOT FAIR.

Still, I'm glad those of you who got to go had such a good time!

Just got back from the Hangry & Angry Q&A and the Closing Ceremonies of the Sakura-con 2009. I made some notes: They allowed pictures only for a few seconds, when H&A came into the room and I literally did not have time to get my camera out before the organizers stopped the picture taking. So I'll describe them. I was about 20 feet from them during the Q&A and about 50 during the closing ceremonies. [That "daigong" from JPH!P who was mentioned earlier in this thread was kneeling directly in front of me with his JPH!P friends. I didn't talk to him, but he seemed a nice enough guy, not a perv.]

Both of Yossie and Rika were dressed and made up in the same kind of hAngry & Angry "Lite" they've been in all weekend. It was even a bit closer to "normal" than H&A compared to yesterday. Except for heavy makeup around the eyes, they were both close to what you might see them as "Yossie" and "Rika", instead of hAngry and Angry.

Rika was again in a cross between goth and lolicon with a definite emphasis on lolicon. She was wearing a wig again, but it was straight hair today instead of curly. There was a white and blue feathery puff thing in her hair. She was wearing a black jacket with blue highlights. Underneath was a goth/lolicon dress and leggings. Big dark shoes.

Yossie was wearing her hair up. Today the hair was not dropped over to the side in feathery spikes like yesterday. Instead, it went straight back, almost a "rooster" style. She was wearing mostly black clothes. A black T-shirt with a red design on it that I could not make out. Black pants with lots of intentional frayed cuts. Big black clodhopper work shoes. During the Q&A, she wore a pink, hooded, sweat shirt over this, unzipped and with the hood off. When she sat down, most of the black was hidden, so the result was that she looked pink and blond and a lot more like Yossie than like hAngry. ^^;

Here's a summary of the Q&A. There were about 300 people there. I didn't hear every question/answer clearly, so some things are left out and I might have got some things wrong. hAngry and Angry spoke only in Japanese, except for a couple of phrases here and there. The questions were mostly in English and translated for them. And their answers were translated.

The moderator introduced herself as "Diaz" and said she was the USA representative of H!P and H&A. She was a middle-aged woman who looked Filipino to me. She was fluent in English and Japanese. There is a big Filipino community in Seattle. The questions were all from the audience.

Q: What past groups that you have been in have been your favorites? (Not sure if I heard this question right.)
Yossie: [Didn't hear what she said, but I don't think she included "Morning Musume".]
Rika: Morning Musume

Q:What is the difference between Japanese audiences and the American audience you had last night?
Yossie: Americans in the audience each did his/her own thing. They did not all do the same dance as Japanese audiences do. They were much more individual.
Rika: There were a lot more females in the audience here. [This got a big cheer.]

[Side note: About half the audience at the Q&A were female and most were Westerners ethnically. They were also mostly under 25 years old, much younger on the average than the Japanese audiences I see in the H!P concert DVDs.]

Q: Are you ever coming back to America?
Yossie: Of course. [This got a big cheer.]

Q: When are you coming to Florida?
Rika: "Of course" [I don't think she understood the question quite right and she decided to go with an answer that got cheers.]

Q: Would you have preferred your first USA concert to be in a different city or are you happy with Seattle?
Y & R: We're happy that it is Seattle and that it is at Sakura-con.

Q: Angry, In an old [???] episode, you had a bunny embroidered on the back of your blouse. Can I embroder the same thing on my blouse?
Rika: "Yes" [in English]

Q: Was the band at your concert a regular band you appear with or a temporary band?
Yossie: Temporary. This concert only.

Q: Is performing difficult?
Yossie: Performing is not hard. We've been doing it so long now, it comes naturally.

Q: What was your favorite moment during last night's concert?
Yossie: When the audience echoed back to us during the "Kiss me, kill me" refrain: "Kiss me" [audience: "kiss me"], "Kill me" [audience: "kill me"].
Rika: "Me too" [She said this in English, meaning her answer is the same as Yossie's. This got a big laugh.] XD

Q: Are you jealous, Angry, of all the attention that Yossie is getting for her birthday? [Not sure if I heard this question right.]
Rika: "No, no, no, I'm Angry!" [She said this in English and it got a big laugh. ] XD

Q: Have you done anything in Seattle while you've been here?
Yossie: I was shopping in the convention center yesterday and I saw sushi in a roll. That really surprised me.

Q: Would you like a cartoon to be based on hAngry & Angry like the one based on Puffy Ayumi?
Y & R: "Yes" [in English]

Q: [something about practicing ... couldn't make it out]
Yossie: I practice it about once a week.
Rika: [couldn't make out what she said]

Q: What does the future hold for H&A?
Y & R: We will have an album coming out in the fall.

Q: Have you eaten out in Seattle?
Yossie: We went to the Waterfront Grill. [She then listed all the food they had and said it was great. This was the longest answer either of them gave to any question. Those UFW women sure love to talk about food. XD ]

Q: Have you seen the Space Needle?
Y & R: Not yet.

Q: What do you do before concert?
Rika: I write [some Japanese character, couldn't make what she said] on my hand 3 times, then I hug hAngry.
Yossie: I just hope that the audience enjoys the show.

Q: [didn't hear the question]
Rika: I was so active during the concert, I think I hurt myself. I woke up with neck pain.

Q: What is the best kind of compliment that you can get?
Rika: Seeing the audience smile.
Yossie: "Me too!" [in English] [another big laugh] XD

Q: What is your reaction to non-Japanese speakers who are fans? [Didn't quite hear this one exactly.]
Yossie: It was exciting that people who don't speak Japanese even know about our music.

Q: How did you feel, Yossie, when the audience and Rika sang "Happy Birthday" to you at the concert?
Yossie: I was totally surprised. [This answer puzzled me. I read somewhere online yesterday that H&A could be heard rehearsing yesterday afternoon and that Happy Birthday was played in the rehearsal.]

After the Q&A, they left the room for a few minutes while a line formed for getting autographs. Then they came back for the autographs. Yossie looked tired when she came back. Only time I've ever seen her look that way.

H&A also made an appearence at the Closing Ceremonies. They were dressed the same, but Yossie had taken off the pink sweat shirt so she was almost all black, more hAngry-looking. Before they were brought out, the head honcho of the convention read out the names of all the "guests" and H&A got the biggest applause, even more than girugamesh; which surprised me. When they came out they thanked Sakura-con and Yossie finished by saying "Arigato, Seattle". <3

One last thing: Yossie's eyes were twice as big today as they were Friday. They can be seen from space! ^_^

^ Aww man that sounded so awesome. Maybe there will be an official transcript of the Q&A that will be put up soon enough eh?

I was at the concert but I wish I could've been at the con itself for all 3 days instead of just one since I had to drive in and out of town. It's better than nothing though. And the concert rocked hard. Totally worth the price of admission just to see this. Miyuji (opening band) was pretty good too.

PS: I think one of the other new songs name is No Future. I'm pretty sure that's what they said.

I caught that too. Glad i'm not the only one who picked up on that.

Btw the Hangry and Angry Q and A was great. Lasted just a little under an hour before they went to autographs. The girls did an excellent job and were getting bombarded with questions. Rika scored lots of laughs with her one word answers to various questions. Kind of funny when a girl in the audience accidently referred to Angry as Ishikawa-San before she caught herself and called her Angry instead. Some guy also asked if they were doing anything after the Q and A which seemingly got some jeers. I'm sure someone recorded some audio which will be uploaded sooner or later.

The autograph line was fairly long and I decided to get my DVD sleeve of the Yossie/Rika movie "Tokkaeko" which surprised them. Yossie kind of gasped and it also surprised Rika and she she let out an amazed gasp. We exchanged glances as she handed my the autographed item and I've gotta agree with that everyone else is saying that Rika is better in real life than in her pictures and tv stuff. Wow!

I would have tried to sneak some photos during the Q and A but they threatened to escort anyone out who was caught taking photos after the girls sat down in their chairs.

@Rickee, thanks for the great (no, make that awesome) report! <3 That's what I call great news reporting  btw, just curious how they (sakura-con staff, etc) selected the questions (or selected the ppl who were able to ask the questions) during the Q & A session. Like, was it just a random "you raise your hand and you're lucky if you were picked to ask a question by the staff" situation? Or was there some sort of pre-screening where ppl who were chosen beforehand were lined up in front of a mic? Just curious ^_^

If it's anything like they usually do at a convention, then there was probably a mic that people lined up to and took turns asking. That's usually what I see at most panels where fans get involved. Probably no pre-screening though, haha. That might be a little too much. Just my guess based on what I've seen on other panels.

@Mab @matadesuyo8 It was actually just people raising their hands and the translator calling on them. Which is why some of the questions were kind of stupid. <_<

@Rickee Going to make a few corrections to your Q&A questions/answers, if you don't mind. ^^

Q: Are you jealous, Angry, of all the attention that Yossie is getting for her birthday? [Not sure if I heard this question right.]
Rika: "No, no, no, I'm Angry!" [She said this in English and it got a big laugh. ] :D

If this is the same question I'm thinking of, whoever asked that actually said something like, "Would you ever change the name of the band to 'Hangry and Charmy?' " And then Rika did the little Charmy Ishikawa L thing with her hand and looked confused. :P Then said "No, no, no, I'm Angry!" She seemed surprised. :good:

Q: Have you done anything in Seattle while you've been here?
Yossie: I was shopping in the convention center yesterday and I saw sushi in a roll. That really surprised me.

I think the question for that answer was, "What's been your favorite cosplay that you've seen here?" Yossie mentioned seeing the sushi roll (that girl's costume was awesome, btw :P), and Rika said she saw a girl dressed as a sexy Chopper from One Piece.

Q: [something about practicing ... couldn't make it out]
Yossie: I practice it about once a week.
Rika: [couldn't make out what she said]

The question was something along the lines of, "Do you still practice for Ongaku Gatas?" Yossie said she practiced every week, and then Rika said something like, "Angry often sabotages those practices" and she gave a little devilish look. ^^

Q: What do you do before concert?
Rika: I write [some Japanese character, couldn't make what she said] on my hand 3 times, then I hug hAngry.
Yossie: I just hope that the audience enjoys the show.

Rika said that she writes the kanji for "person" on her hand, swallows it and then hugs Hangry. It seems like she does that kanji-swallowing a lot.

Oh, and here's another question from the Q&A:
Q: How does it feel to be the most beautiful women in the world?
Rika: (in English) ... Happy? (that got a good laugh, as well.)
Yossie: Happy. (with a big grin)

Rika was so cute during the Q&A, she seemed really shy. Yossie was her usual cool self. ^^ They were so amazing!!!! At the autograph session on Friday I had them sign my Hangry&Angry CD booklet, and since I had that I got to stand in the priority line. When I got to them I was so nervous, I didn't really end up saying anything.;;; Yossie said, "Hello!" and I said "Hiii" in a kind of weird voice, and then Rika said "Hi!" and when she was done signing my booklet I managed to get out a strangled, "Thank you!" I felt so lame. :P But it was awesome.

To me, Yossie seemed genuinely surprised about everyone singing Happy Birthday to her at the concert, so maybe if someone actually heard them playing it (which may or may not be true, given that the source of that info is the internet :P), maybe she wasn't there? Either way, she was really happy about it. ^^ Of course, when I was singing I said "Yossie" instead of "Hangry"!! I was basically standing dead center at the concert with a bunch of short people in front of me, so I had a really good view. A girl in front of me yelled, "Yossie, marry meeee!!!" after the first couple of songs. XD;; I don't blame her! The energy in the crowd was amazing, and there were a bunch of Japanese people in front of me getting into the whole, "Oi! Oi!" thing. I looked around a couple of times, though, and some people in the audience were just standing there stony-faced. ^^;; The new songs were amazing. I especially liked the one (I forget the name) where they did the little fan dance, and some para-para at the end. Everyone freaked out when they started singing The Peace, it was so much fun! During the whole concert Rika was smiling and looking like she was having the time of her life. Yossie kind of tried to look more cool, but a couple of times I saw her trying to suppress a smile. :P Ahhhh, they were just too amazing for words!!!

I'm really glad that there were a ton of girls in the audience. It's nice to show them that they have plenty of girl fans, and I'm sure it's a nice change from their usual concerts. ^^

@RieIshi and Nayok-Kihara: I looked up "lollicon". Boy were you right! Turns out its a kind of porno. I must live a sheltered life cause I thought it referred to a style of clothing. <_<

@lil cazza: "huge-gantic". I love it! :good:

@Iroiro: Thanks for the corrections.

I remembered a couple of more questions. The very first question somebody asked one of them if she would be his girlfriend. The moderator, Diaz, jokingly answered "Yes. I'll be your girlfriend". She didn't even translate the question or give the girls a chance to answer. Also, one of the last questions, someone asked them to go out after the convention. Diaz did the same thing: jokingly said "yes" and then went on to the next question without even passing the question on to H&A. She should have let them answer. They probably get both questions all the time and probably have clever/funny answers.
