To be considered an adult in Japan, you have to be 20 (you can vote, and so on).
Legal driving age in Japan is 18.
National age of consent is 13, although depending on prefectural laws, it can vary from 13 to 18.
As an example, age of consent in Sweden is 15, Norway 16, South Korea 13, Austria 14, Denmark 15, Spain 13, Brazil 14 - it all varies depending on where you are in the world. In Yemen for example, it's strictly forbidden to have sex outside marriage regardless of ones age, period.
