Normally I can find many words to describe a picture regardless of how stupid they may be. In this case I'm lost for words, can anybody see this in a positive sense?

Why so negative about it? This kind of thing is pretty normal in Japanese advertising. Weird and cute works. And honestly any endorsements they can get are good for them since they need the promotion. And more ways for the group to make money.
