While I think it's disappointing, it was also inevitable. None of the new girls to join H!P interested me as much as those in Elder Club, particularly after MM's 6th gen. Even Taka and Nakai echoed this sentiment in an Utaban episode a while back featuring some of the original members of MM. With the collapse of HM and Haromoni, it was only a matter of time.

This marks the end of an era, but at least we can all share the fun memories of the H!P's "Golden Age" from past shows, specials, and appearances.

It's like Tsunku had collected them all to a CONCENTRATION CAMP, and then vanished them all. So easy! >:((((

The announcement was made by the head of UpFront. Tsunku had nothing to do with it. Hell, that's why he's running NGP, so he actually has control of his idols...

It's nice to see H!O continues their fondness of scaremongering without clarification, failing to mention that they'll continue their activities with the company. So the girls aren't in the bin, they just won't be hellopro idols anymore. Of course that sort of news wouldn't get them as many hits and whip the fandom up in a frenzy...

Why they must graduate???
ARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!
Although I'm not big fan of Elder Club but when they in Hello! Project it makes me happy.....
But if they graduate it makes me crying much like Goto, Ayaka, THE Possible and other member who graduate Hello! Project...
:(
What is UFA plan want they graduate to H!P????

WTH????????? seriously!
at least ensure that they have a career first before doing this..
like u know.. getting them into a good label?
i foresaw this with the bests albums coming out but i was being optimistic..
is that why ISHIYOSHI got to do Hangry & Angry so straightforwardly?
i don't mind them leaving H!P as long as they have a future...

um...don`t you guys think you`re all overreacting..?we don`t know just yet what EXACTLY does this graduation means. who knows? Maybe after this, they would all release a full album. I don`t know, you don`t know. So just chill out for now, and wait for fate to decide what happens next. Maybe we`ll see more of them, maybe the opposite. I`m just hoping for some good news that will follow this one. -_-

So even best case if they are just making a new devision to handle them and they weren't really going anywhere, with the new grouping it would probably mean no more mass H!P concerts or mixed shuffles including them :( What's with the lack of detail, how unprofessional?
Did the main office have to much invested in the market and now can't make payroll?

Not the best news to wake up to. This sucks! But if it's like Waffles says that they still will be under UFA then at least there is a chance that some get to still release music.

 2008-10-19 09:26
@Mr Waffle: Thanks for posting something reasonable. This isn't a mass firing; they will be under UFA still. I could see the less popular ones completely leaving UFA in the future but for the time being they are also still under UFA.

@Willow_: *facepalm* Comparing this to concentration camps is in very bad taste. It is not the same thing at all. -_- I understand your shock, but that is still a very poor and inaccurate comparison.

Good Grief. I'm seeing a ton of people here telling everyone else to calm down, and stop freaking out. But, I hardly see any freaking out, or jumping to conclusion, from anybody.

There are hardly any chicken littles here, but it sure sounds like a lot of other people want there to be some. Calmer heads aren't just prevailing, that's the only kind of head that's in here. So, cut it out with the rescue routine.

Most posts I've read seems pretty positive, if a little bit sad and stunned.

I dont know what to think right now, that has just exploded my brain. I sat here for a few minutes just going "What? Wait...What? But---No just NO!" I want to think that UFA will have plans for everyone since they are still in that agency for now, I dont want to think of anything worse than that just because all the people in the elder club I am a fan of especially those of older generations of MM.
Of course now the Hangry&Angry thing kinda comes into play, H!P would usually never do anything like that and MySpace of all places I dont think they would use as that since they are an Idol type company. Im hoping UFA will step up and actually start acting like a grown-up record label like Avex Trax.

Shock! Like almost everyone, I hope they don't disappear from the scene, but there are some girls condemned to do it. I pretty much hope to keep up with them, because maybe that means it'll be more difficult to know of them.

Guys, we could see something coming... so here it is.

WtfWtf?Wtf
I can't believe the headline. Most of you are positive and I hope you are right. I don't know what to think. I prefered Wonderful Hearts, I haven't yet watch any Elder Club tour. I'm not very sad, but I'm very chocked. Why give out so little information like this? Annoying UFA.

Finally!
It's about time these girls get themselves lives. This is probably the best thing that could happen. UFA was just holding them back by limiting their choices in life, both personally and musically. Good luck to all of them!

Firstly, I'm very surprised about the announcement.Maybe UFA is going to close and do not have enough money to support so many idols under them. Of course,I'm very upset because most idols in Elder Club is me & my wife favorites! especially natsumi abe..OMG..what's going on ?i really hope that they will have better future.Setsugyo emedetto & Ganbatte kudasai ne!
Good bye Golden Era..

p/s: To tsunku, please do remember what you have done 10 years ago. It's You who develop the 1st era of MM & make them the top idols.Plz don't ruin your best track record.

Okay I was thinking awhile and I have to put this in a comment, if they seriously just out right fire everyone in the Elder Club and replace them with new groups of girls like the winners from Taiwan and a few others...what is to say that all of them will get a job outside of UFA, I dont want to really say it but some of the girls arent the best singers in the world and if they were truly looking to have a great career under H!P and UFA when they joined in the first place they had to give up alot of things because of certain rules set into place.....there is just now way they could give that all back to them.
Yeah it is a tough world out there and maybe I would understand this more if H!P all togather just went under because of loss of sales, but truth be told H!P hasnt given half the girls in the elder club enough coverage as actual singers and I havent really seen them attempt to even give them a chance to do so.
Okay...my bad side of thinking rant is over.

I don't know about this.. but for me, it means I completely lost my interest in H!P now. Kids are okay but I hate the airi-maimi-miyabi-momoko-risako who mainly rule the songs and all. (okay, I admit that lately in BerryZ songs everyone has had lines, in Madayade too, which is good. But still...) In C-ute I've never had that much interest because I don't like Airi & Maimi who they like to keep in spot. Let Chisato shine! D; Morning Musume has been mostly plain boring to me after Yossie left, probably because the ones I like barely never get to shine and show their true talents. (so Ai-Reina-Koharu trio is a no-no to me)

Now the only thing that's left for me, is Hangry&Angry. God I hope they'll release more than one mini-album now >>

 2008-10-19 10:07
^Hangry&Angry isn't actually part of H!P, though, just UFA.

I'm hoping they'll release more than a mini-album too, but since it's only a promotional unit, I'm not holding my breath...

I'm very upset - I suppose we can't say it was a complete shock after all the mega best albums were annouced, but still, theyre loosing a lot of mature members. They were far more intresting at their peeks than the current MM, Berryz or C-ute, but maybe with a lot less acts to be thinking about, H! P can finally start focusing on quality over quantity.

WHAT THE ######? Stupid UFA! I don't think this was Tsunku's decision. It sounds like they are getting rid of their old idols, when they have no idea what to do with them. This is sick... Really bad move, they will loos a lot of the old fan's with this.

ARHHHH!x1000 i cant think of any other words to speak of. Sorry. WHY!~!!!???, joke? i hope so but it seems like is not quite a joke, or should i say it is too big a joke. OH no!!!!!
I agree, if they do this they get most of the old fan off. haiz.....
@tasukidaisuki: hmm... it seems sensible, after the mega best( i had a feeling that it is not something good if they have mega best when i 1st saw it). Ya they are the one who are with the most memories of and if they are graduating, it just seems bad and unreasonable for the fans and i think UFA is wrongly put?(circuit, wires)
If they are seriously going to graduate then it will be left with only one interest --> MM
and their concert will be a must to attend!!!

No way I'm reading all the comments posted so far...

Anyway, this is definitely one of those things where you can't quite be sure if this is the best decision they've ever made or the worst. Right now though, I'm leaning towards best. Recently I've been thinking that Elder Club and the rest of H!P have kind of been holding one another back, so pulling them apart and allowing them to develop separately is probably the best thing for them. My only points of contention are Ongaku Gatas and Matsuura Aya. OG I feel we should have seen more of, though I guess that has more to do with the past (they should've been given more material earlier). Aya... I dunno, I just can't imagine Aya outside of H!P.

As for the rest of Elder Club... I'm hoping for the best, but outside of a select few I'm not expecting much. Regardless, best of luck to all of them.

@FeatherShard: Ya i am also thinking of OG, Aya and Nacchi!!! Hai, i am totally DOWN!!!
And about those Taiwan new member, i am not too sure that i'll have a eye on them.....
Anyway there is sure to be a concert rite??

OMG what is going on?

why do they do these things? personally i think it`s unbelievable to say, that all of them wanted to leave h!P. also theres a huge fanbase behind them, why do they want the to leave?

OMG!!!! If I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes I would not have believed it. I'm not worried for the girls that are leaving because they are talented and beautiful, but what is going to happen to the girls that are being left behind? I don't think that they realise what a potentially big mistake this could turn out to be.

Dude. H!p is a business. The Elder club was probably a huge financial drain for them since their singles don't ever seem to break 4 figures any more. Some, like Yaguchi and Satoda Mai, don't need h!p anymore, and it makes sense for them to leave. Others aren't doing h!p any good, so it makes sense for h!p to cut them.

Harsh, maybe, but that's how things work in the real world.

 2008-10-19 11:38
@royalpalmtree: I know Hangry&Angry isn't part of H!P, what I meant is that now I don't have any other groups etc. besides H&A that I have any interest in. I don't care what company they're under~ No matter how much I like Yossie, I still don't find myself believing that they'd release more than that mini album. :x So after they stop releasing stuff, I'm mostly done with H!P/TNX/NGP.

Wow, this came as quite a surprise. I do believe this will be a good change though, finally all these girls careers have a chance of going somewhere. Honestly, the "idol" tag was just holding them back and limiting them at this point. It's fine for the younger groups, but when you're well into your 20's+, it just becomes a burden. Should be very interesting to see what the future holds...
