for a second I thought they were gonna let her stay but I am not surprised. I knew they would force her out just like they did with yaguchi. she didn't want to leave( miki) and yagu didn't either. UFA is so messed up. I wonder if she will stay in GAM? I guess they will have another audition next year.

Miki wasn't leader-like but I think Ai is even worse. At least Miki bosses people around, good or bad. Ai seems like the type to follow orders. I guess that might be what UFA needs right now. I think Risa would make a good leader though.

Can't say I care one bit. At all. Miki brought this upon herself.

Now, to all of you who still to this day hate on Friday - blaming THEM - and complaining like 4 year olds, go eat potting soil.

Apparently "taking responsibility for ones own actions" is an alien concept to you. You fail to understand that if Miki, Kago, or whomever it may be, did not actually do those things that they did, then no matter if there was a million photographers, there would not be even a single picture of a scandal.

That aside, here's to Takahashi, and her being MM's new leader-- I am sure she'll do a much better job than Miki.

I am glad she's leaving. Her attitude was poor and I stated this on the other news as well. I think she honestly didnt care. I don't consider brave and stupid to be the same state of mind. AaronD12 - I agree. Miki's attitude was not the best and even Yossie at her graduation commented that Miki had a "harsh way of speaking" and would do good by changing it. Her boldness showed that she really didnt care what happened to her or MM. She was too busy trying to be "tough" for her fans or whatever and not thinking about how she just became leader and her responsibility to the group.

Ever since she started with GAM she's lost interest in MM. You could see it in the hello morning episodes, concerts and now even more apparent in the Haromoni episodes.

Yes hopefully Ai and Risa will do a better job. They're much more upbeat.

I agree with you, airmj. I just honestly don't even know how to feel about this right now--I guess I'm a little angry with Miki because of her attitude and how now all this is dumped on Ai. Best of luck to Ai as the new leader and Risa as sub~! This new single better kick a**, though.

I knew it! With other scandals always have been consecuences.

Bah, I don't like Miki as a leader, better for her be in solitaire and GAM.

NOOOOOO....oh well....I had a feeling she would leave. :P I"m glad that she still has GAM though. You could sort of tell that she was looking like she was out of place after awhile. Everyone is so upbeat and she's the only one who is really strict. With Yossie not there anymore, her attitue turned sour, not to say it wasn't like that before, but she had some there to balance her bad attitude out. Man, can't believe she just pulled a Yaguchi.

@Philosoranter
"Risa will be the 'real' leader inside a week, just watch and see. That girl has moxie." I kinda agree. Risa has ALOT more spunk in her and i can see her taking more initiative than Ai.

1st expression when i saw this is 'HUH! WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?! NO WAY!!! HELL NO!!!!' but HOORAY for Ai-chan as leader and Risa-chan as sub-leader

i agree with the people who said that miki didnt care much for mm. just like airmj said, she didnt have much expression in lots of the events and with that attitude, she probably wouldnt turn out to be a good leader.

to the people who say mm should disband/breakup: just because you hate mm now doesnt mean everyone else does. if you dont like the way the are now, simply stop paying attention to them. they still have lots of strong characters and i think most people have gotten over the shock of junjun & linlin and are just waiting to see them.

finally i think aichan and risa will lead mm to a new age! :D

I hope this doesn't get any worse.

I'm not really surprised. Miki was willing to stand up for her cause, but I'm sure that there's no way that management would change their rules. Whether anyone likes the rules or not, they exist, and they must be followed. I don't like their silly rules that lead to events that shouldn't even be called scandals, but there's nothing I can do about that.

I would have loved to see what the group would be like with Fujimoto as the leader, but I'm going to stay positive and say that this could actually be refreshing for the group. 5th gen and beyond (minus Fujimoto who isn't a *true* 6th gen) have always been the unknowns of the group. They were always the members that got the least camera and talking time on TV shows. They are also the members that most of the general public in Japan does not know and does not care about at all. (Kirari Tsukishima doesn't count.)

So, it's almost like this group is starting over. Morning Musume is younger than ever, and the members now have a chance to create a new era for themselves. I'm hoping that the members and the management also realize this because there's no way that this set of members can continue along the same path that was paved years ago by the 1st through 4th gen members.

Well... It's Ok I think.
If Miki want to leave MM is for her best.
And I love Takanashi as the new leader.
Mm... I hope Fujimoto wont leave HP

Damn, it sucks that she left. Well, I bet it was hard for her with all the gossip surrounding Morning Musume's former members and herself. Yossie's graduation wasn't seeming to help, either. Every other member is ,at most,18, besides Takahashi. I don't blame her for loosing interest; she probably felt she grew out of it a little, too. Well, at least she didn't resign from H!P, just Morning Musume

Man I just wanted to check if there were any more news on Miki and bam! I was expecting this, but you know, I wanted her to stay in MM.... but there is still GAM right? and a solo career?

Risa as subleader? o_O

 2007-06-01 16:08
Yea, when I saw the news, I thought "what the hell?" but then again, yea... sinking ship and the whole bit. And she never really seemed like she particularly wanted to be in MM, nor felt like she fit in. I mean, look at the fact that she really doesn't have any friends in MM. Ah well, hopefully she'll be able to return to a solo career, or at least have success as a talent outside of singing.

Miki Fujimoto does not like being a leader... I'm happy for that.

Morning Musume shouldn't ban members from having boyfriends. It's not like they're scared cannot be raped. May as well call it Virgin Musume. :P

took them long enough. over a week since the scandal surfaced.

miki never belonged in mm in the first place, have fun in gam and whatever solo career you can muster together.

everyone knows risa will be the real leader of the group. :)
AICHAN & GAKISAN FOREVER~ <3

I don't know why she took that decision. if UFA said that they weren't going to do anything about "her scandal"...so..what's the point? MM code? what code? She's one of my fav MM. I hope she thinks over her decision(as far as I am concerned, it's speeded up) and Ai-chan and all the MM girls persuade Miki to not quit MM unit. It's a sad news ;_____;

What do they mean she won't appear in the summer concert? Shouldn't GAM be in that concert?

Not really a surprise.

In addition to these weekly scandals I'm starting to wait leaked behind the scenes stories or even a tell-all book on H!P.

I guess GAM will not be performing in that concert as well. Either that, or they're going to change members quickly, like with Nono.

/wonders if she will have a nude photobook after Aibon...

 Hota
 2007-06-01 17:04
@grubby: Maybe, but since the current GAM tour will continue, that would be a bit stupid of them. It would seem more like UFA punishing her fans.

 AaronD12
 2007-06-01 17:05
@fantasywave: The whole point of MM is to have "pure" girls as idols.

Think of it from a fan's perspective: If the girls don't have a boyfriend, you will think to yourself, "I could be her boyfriend one day!" If the girls DO have boyfriends, you will think, "I have no chance. I've lost my interest."

@dcpoor
everyone knows risa will be the real leader of the group. :)
AICHAN & GAKISAN FOREVER~ <3

Totally agreed!
Come on, Risa, go for it!
Ai & Risa are very special friends, they cover up the back of each other. Ai will be the "face" of MM and Gaki-san will be the "bridge" to the other members (all members adore her, Eri, Reina, Sayu...).
The quit of Miki is the best thing that might have happened in my opinion.
The way is clear for TakaGaki!

saw that coming ... ouch...
hope she at least gets to stay in GAM though...

This is sad indeed, and UFA didnt force, she took her own decision, she liked having a partner I guess...

Anyway, it's NOT the end of MM, it'll be weakened a lot, but it's gonna stay around and as people have said, a new era has begun, I am sure they could start with a new image and keep the group fresh.

My best wishes for MM!! (I'll never leave you!)

aw not i don't give a crap about mm. At least Miki will be able to move on with a solo career. I doubt they'll "hide" her as they did mari for so long since one she is finishing the gam tour and two she has a more promising solo career. I just wish she had a graduation concert. I wish Mari had one too. Why do all my favorites have to leave like this!!! Thank you konkon for doing it right!! Even if you're gone forever...

I'm surprised that people are surprised that she left O.O... we all knew she had to go, If yaguchi went she had to go. Anywho, what I wanted is happeng Ai-Chan and Gaki-San are Leader and SUB so I'm happy! WOO HOO! We all know we need a good duo... Iida had kei/abe/ Yaguchi... Yossie had miki... Ai cahn and Gaki! YAY! can't wait can't wait can't wait! Good luck to miki in Gam it'll be fun.

How come she won't be in the summer concert? Is that part of her punishment or is it something like otome and elders?

:]
crumble musume girls, crumble.

It was long overdue, the interest in the group in general has been low, i see more failures soon!
