Wow, I am so sad right now. H!P won't be the same...I am going to miss all of them! What will become of them...won't they join a different label owned by the same people?
It was nice to see everyone. That was sweet of Goto Maki to send flowers. I wonder how Kago felt.

no matter what, i still want to cry. i have really mixed feelings about all this! i started out with the current music (back in 2006) and worked backwards. so i'm really just learning to appreciate the elders. like seriously, i've only been into ayaya since august. this is so sad!! wish aibon and gomaki were there too, but it can't be helped i guess.

When I found out that most of them were going to continue their careers and just not be under the H!P label, I started feeling mostly complacent toward the whole thing. After reading this, however, it all seems so sad. Just reading the descriptions makes me feel sad.
This really looks like the H!P concert to end all H!P concerts (perhaps an irresponsible choice of words here). I can't wait to see it. I only wish Maki could have performed here too.

Meh I don't really care what ya'll think, considering I'm probably the one who's living in Japan and speaks Japanese and while I know a few others do too it seems to be a rarity, even of the people I meet here who are just complete weeaboos and can't actually handle the real culture. But UFA does still pay them, people still keep assuming HP and UFA are the same thing, which they aren't. As their production and managaement company, UFA will always be paying them.
For anyone who wants to read my really really long concert description you can find it over at my livejournal, here: http://angelachibayuy.livejournal.com/160309.html If you're gonna follow there just to post asinine comments about how mean I am and the like don't bother no one cares about stupid crap like that.

@alita87 smeh, people such as yourself like to use the fact you live in Japan as some type of all knowing excuse when it comes to this sort of thing, which i find a bit ridiculous to be honest.
nothing i said had anything to do with rather or not UFA pay them or not, so i'm assuming you were referring to someone else. and no one said you were mean, simply calling someone stupid was over dramatic. you may live in Japan, but you don't work for H!P. our opinions mean just as much as yours, no need to insult someone who disagrees with you. good day.

I am looking forward to seeing this concert when it comes out on DVD. It seems like it was a landmark show and all of my favorite H!P songs were sung.
I expect that I will end up feeling a bit melancholy, but I am looking forward to seeing what Tsuji, Kaori, Ogawa, and others do in the future.

alita87 - I don't have a problem with the newer groups themselves, I like Berryz and Cute, but I just think this night should have been more about the Elder Club than it seemed to be. I mean they spent at least 15 minutes on Ice Cream Musume, who most people in Japan a) don't know who they are and b) don't care to. That's time that could have been spent performing I Wish or Never Forget You etc etc. Also, while I love that Tanpopo and Pucchi got back together and performed, what people who didn't see the concert don't understand is that LESS THAN HALF of each song was performed. The same was true for several of the older songs that ranged from less than half to half being performered. Whereas many of the younger groups got to do full versions or at the very least longer ones. For an elder club graduation, I think that should have been switched around. I still had an awesome time at the concert, but couldn't help that feel that the elder club (and the audience for that matter, deserved more) And I know I'm not the only one when a good chunk of the audience went "Eh?!" when they came out and bowed, but did not sing. Also, please don't lord living in Japan over people, especially when it comes to this subject, that is pretty much irrelevant. I've lived there to and visit at least once a year, but I certainly wouldn't use that as proof of my "rightness" when it comes to HP matters...

@wildstar For instance, Makoto messed up on his first speech, and a couple singers missed a syllable or two in a song. I lucked out and was in Japan for the 2-1 evening concert (and got crap seats behind the stage), and will probably end up buying the DVD so I can actually see the concert.... It definitely didn't feel like a "graduation" concert. No final song for just the graduating members (what that would possibly be, I have no idea), no white glow sticks, no encore (and of course, I was sitting behind the stage, so I couldn't even see most of it) And as people have said, Ice Cream Musume got WAY too long of an MC. I mean, most of it was the members struggling to remember the short speeches that they were supposed to have memorized (My name is.... The thing that surprised me the most since coming to Japan is....). I don't really know anything about them, nor care much, so during their song I went to the restroom, only to be disappointed that they had an MC. At least Mikitty got to sing Romantic Ukare Mode. I'm not sure if they're trying to rebuild H!P in hopes of becoming popular again by cutting their ties to the past, or if they're trying to self-destruct themselves by cutting their ties to the past.

I was happy to see that Maki Goto had given flowers in honor of this. Thats what made me sad :( Yuko Nakazawa giving leadership to Takahashi was sad too. I believe Takahashi will make a great H!P leader, but she's also a leader of MM. That's quite a record to hold. This is going to be a sad concert to watch. I must get Kleenex by the bulk in time for this, lols! I wish Ayaka would have been backstage or something. And I was happy to see Aya Ishiguro, I wish she would have taken pics w/ the first generation though! <33

How sad.. even sadder to read about a lame concert. even till the end, HP is still trying to squeeze the old and push the new. H!P still needs to learn that both packaging AND TALENT are required to make a good product. Graduations are always sad. But what's next? I guess we'll find out who will fight and who will not. I'm sure aya, miki, yaguchi, mai, and yuko will be okay. Everyone else is a wait-and-see... If history is any indication though, a majority of the graduates will disappear, especially non-MM ones. Yeh! nono is back!!! i can't wait for her and aibon to appear in a show together.. i'm hoping some crazy producer will get the bright idea of pair them together in a show appearance, even if for comedic purposes. Other things I'm hoping for, a yaguchi-lead group. Maybe tanpopo-2? A yuko-lead group? How about yuko-nachi-yaguchi-nono. YN-YN. Wouldn't that be awesome!!! As individuals, they are weak, together, they are strong.
Miki stone faced? maybe it's her defense mechanism. Maybe she's one of those internal sufferers.
It seems like those who like old-gen are always waiting. Waiting for aibon to come back, waiting for nono to come back, or for maki to release a cd, now waiting for what's next. it's wait or leave. i guess that's a nature of out with old in with the new.
how oddly i rant for things long past.

I wish these girls good luck in the future! As saddening as sounds we're definately going to miss these girls from hello!project I mean we grew up with these girls and they opened their hearts giving us their feelings and energy and their all for us around the world! But where one era ends a new one unfolds! Ai Takahashi is the leader of Hello!Project as well as Momusu. That must really be hard to juggle around. I know she'll do her best!

I think that the problem that I have with H!P losing all the Elder Club members is that they lose the members that had interesting personalities. The members who appear on variety shows, and keep getting invited BACK to variety shows were all the Elder Club members.
Momusu appeared on Mechaike quite a few times in the past, but the appearances steadily dropped off as people like Yasuda, Yaguchi, and Yossi left. Same thing with Utaban. The older Momusu members really knew how to make the most out of an appearance, and were great for presenters like Taka-san and Okamura to bounce jokes off of.
Out of the current Momusu members, only Ai-chan and Gaki come close to being able to do that. It was clear that presenters really didn't find 6th gen members terribly interesting, and basically stopped trying after that. That, and Momusu steadily losing popularity amongst the general Japanese public didn't help either. They need to get Berryz and C-ute onto shows like that, and really groom them so that presenters want them back.

*sigh* well... That's about 15+ people less to worship.. They will all be missed. It would've been better if Tsunku invited Gocchan to sing with the Elder Club, even if she's under the Avex label. I mean, H!P is like her 2nd family, right? Let's just think of this graduation as a reset of H!P. It's feels like yesterday when we looked forward to the release of their "new" single "Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari" or whatever... And now, the spotlight is on the younger members. Sooner or later, Takahashi's going to be the 2nd Iida Kaori of the group (by that, I mean being the leader of the group while witnessing the addition of 5 or more generations). Let's all hope that Morning Musume (better yet, the whole H!P agency) lasts as long as Takarazuka (which was established ever since 1913)...
Good luck to the new era of H!P!! Banzai!! X3

But I agreed with "what_is_the_matrix" - they need more interesting character that is not shy to make critical comment on a show or with host.

Gah I can't believe people still are acting like they're getting laid off. They're not. They are going into new probably just as active fanclubs (or atleast they better be cuz I'm paying to be in 3 out of the 4.)
In fact Yuko already has a fanclub tour to Okinawa that i'm thinking of forking out a crapload of money to go to, in May. So this isn't them getting laid off, AT ALL. HP is not the agency, they would no be doing layoffs. UFA is the agency, they are simply going to be called something else in the agency.
Sunshine slayer:
Well sorry if it sounds rude or bitchy but it's the truth. I'm in the fanclub, so getting front row tickets etc was one of those awesome perks I got for being in the fanclub. And I can't believe the people who would've come to Japan just to see a concert for a couple of days, or those that come here and live for years without ever learning any Japanese.
As for the Elder club, it seems (and even my mixi wota friends agreed) that they did the main graduation at the final Elder club concert in Nagoya (I had gone to the concert in Osaka due to a mixup when applying for fanclub tickets) but people were still expecting something else at large concert. All songs were performed in entirety at the elder club concert so those will be out on dvd too. There is just no time to perform them in entirety at such a large concert, and for Tanpopo as much as I love that song it's such a sad song that it's one that's best shortened when you already know people will be crying at the night concert.

Those pics sure are touching.
It just feels like a big excuse to party and remember the classics. must-buy. They've all moved on from the training grounds of H!P. And more importantly, I've always hated the name elders club (which only reminds me of lawn bowling... which i like...). so they are free from that ugly title. :P
Best of luck to all of 'em that made H!P, and of course Morning Musume, a phenomenal success in jpop.
