I--wait--what?

I mean, I'll be overjoyed to see Ayaya making music without being called an idol, and of course Satoda will be around on TV, and I'm sure everyone else will have something, (Yasuda with a real career? Maeda with an album??) but I'm still really sad to see them all go. No more Melon performances. No more Ongaku Gatas releases. :(

Edit: Wait, no, I'm not really that rational. oISdhlkxhfsanxxLi8yrw3fsvorites
This sucks.

H!P w/o Yuko, Rika and Yossi? VERY bad move

But I still think that they decided to "graduate" them from H!P but not from UpFront and they will be still in bussiness BUT under different label (like Gaagaling or Hangry Angry). I hope so

*cries* UFA!! WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME? Why did I get up this morning?? If I go back to sleep, will this all be a dream?

UGH. It feels almost disloyal to watch anything MM puts out now, since they've just been amputated from the REAL MM. (Oh, but I still love Eri :( BUT WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN SHE GRADUATES, HUH? No Elder club = post-2008 H!P grads disappear into the ether??)

Wow... well this is absolutely crazy. o_0 I just stared at the screen when I saw the news: 'Yup. All of them'.

After the shock... I guess this really is a good thing. Who knows, some of them might be picked up like Goto was. At least, I hope that happens... or maybe some will do more dramas? Seriously though... no need to get rid of Ongaku Gatas. ;_;

oh, fkfkfk!
This was a big surprise. Damn, damn, damn.
Well, I guess this was the best for most of them. They can have awesome careers outside of H!P. I hope news about them will still show up on H!O

Its completly normal, I mean, some of them are to old to be considered an idol.
Maybe now they can forget about being idols and start their singing/acting careers.

THIS ISN'T FUNNY.

THIS IS SO STUPID.

...I can't even believe why I still listen to Hello! Project music. The label is so ridiculous.

=/

EDIT:

Okay, you know what? Now that I think about it, maybe this isn't such a bad thing. As others stated before, they might still be under UFA. If not, then there's a great chance that they might go onto do better things like Maki and Aibon.

I just pray pray pray that this works.

But it would just be hilarious if MM, Berryz, and C-ute's sales dropped.
AHAHAHAHAHA. I love them to death, but seriously. All of the Elder Club? That's kinda ridiculous.

I'm just going to ignore all the "What the f***!!!" comments.
I don't see why ppl are upset. Didn't some ppl question why the elder club are still around when they are not doing much. And ppl keep complaining why UFA/H!P don't do something to boost their career. Now that they did something everyone says FOUL... ironic isn't it.

This news doesn't effect me much since H!P to me, means Morning Musume, C-ute and Berryz Koubou. I do not see anyone from elder clubs unless it is a concert. So basically the elder club are as good non-existance. So this move don't really mean much since they are not very visible to start with.

Members like Yukou, Yaguchi and Satoda would just carry on with their careers. They are just dropping the H!P label. I don't think it carries much meaning for them nowadays as compared to 5 years ago.

I guess Ongaku Gatas was a failed project. I expected more from them but they did not make a bigger impact that what I imagined.

But (did anyone noticed?) Gatas is still active. So will that mean the 2nd line Gatas (Berryz + C-ute) will take over the battle? Looks like it, they seem to be preparing for this already since the end of 2007 (refer to Sals 2008 special edition).

One question, Is Mono Erina in elder club?

This is best thing can happen for those with talent and energy. This is recognition by H!P management for something I have written here many times: that they do not know how to manage women entertainers, only little girls, and if these will develop as women performers they must leave.

Please read Nessy and zam comments above. Those with talent and energy will continue career in new and better way: Perhaps some will make longer career as singer (certainly Matsuura as jazz singer, probably Melons who are already adult performers, and Fujimoto, Kei, Maeda who are already traditional singers). Some will certainly have longer career in movie or TV (Satoda, Ishikawa, Fujimoto already doing this). Others will have career in some different profession (like Konno who is obtaining education, smart girl! becoming ready for management herself, or perhaps political position? who can know?).

Please do not wish to freeze these people into past configuration for your personal entertainment. They are people and must have opportunity to grow as adults, they should not forced to remain children as required by membership in Hello!Project.

This is horrible... H!P without Nacchi, Yuko, AYAYA?!? MARI!?! ;_;

I mean... it did really suck that they didn't do anything, but it was nice to know that they might start doing something. Yes, I will be excited as to see who does what (Yuko in plays? Mari starting a solo career?) and who does well, and I would be thrilled if this horrible news is followed up by an announcment that they're joining TNX or Nice Girl Project.

I guess something was up with all those Best Of Album's and H&A not being under the H!P label...

I will be buying the graduation DVD. It will be epic.

Well since most of you are taking just the translation let me tell you from someone who can actually read the Japanese site

They ARE Being cut from UFA, not just hello project, in fact the main message of graduation is from the president of UFA, not Tsunku. So it was probably more UFA's move than Tsunku's.

And while Tsunku could move them to TNX, that is a completely separate label than UFA. As of the February 1 concert, none of them (Including Yossi and Gatas, which does probably mean the eggs, or the eggs will get put back in regular eggs category) will be associated with UFA at all.

Ongaku Gatas is actaully a weird decision because they are doing well and are doing a second concert tour in December.

Too many drama-comments.

Quite a large percentage of these girls had a non-existing career - what's the purpose of having them in H!P if they do nothing?

Do we want a solid and through-and-through strong Hello!Project or do we want a massive yet watered down Hello!Project, full of units and girls that don't do anything?

As I have said before time and time again, over and over, the only real units that matter today are Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou and C-ute. Add to this Eggs, and you have it all. This have been proven by UFA today.

I am neither shocked, outraged, saddened or any of these things, but I am somewhat surprised and impressed that they had the guts to do it in one big sweep. So perhaps they want to ensure that Hello!Project still stays fresh, gets a new face, and an energy injection. Hopefully it will do them well and will enable them to focus on the four of Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, C-ute and Eggs, and give us top notch idol music from these girls.

And maybe now the other girls can finally move on with their lives and actually do something, instead of being coffee servants or something similar (and just as sad) in the headquarters of UFA. Perhaps now Part 2 of their lives start-- some will go for an education, some will settle down and marry, some will go into acting, some will be TV personalities, some will continue with music, etc.

There are many possibilities.

I've been a fan for soon over 10 years, and I've seen many changes within H!P, often changes that made me upset and so on, but with time I just got used to it, because it's part of H!P - H!P changes, they are a constant dynamic - a sort of microcosmic version of Shiva's dance, that of creation and destruction.

I like to think of it as the end of the beginning, not beginning of the end.

So, relax people.

I understand UFA's ambition to maintain superiority over AKB48 in everything but just because those guys graduated 5 members, they needn't thrash them by graduating over 4 times that figure XD

Oh wow!! Big news ! ^^; I'm happy for them~ ^_^ ! They can probably do more now! Only thing that concerns me is a bit is that I want all the Musumes to be under H!P because it makes it like a big family, but they are so close they can be a big family with out it ^_^ !!

@AaronD12: Win comment.

My only qualm is, who is the leader of H!P now? Takahashi? Im okay with that. But after her and Niigaki graduate, does that mean Ume-chan would be next in line? o.o

This is a little tough to handle, but I pretty much read through all the comments and seeing as most people have a better understanding of the label...company..whatever more than I do, I'm going to stay on the positive side, like most, and hope that they'll all move on to better things or be moved to another label...company..whatever! >.<

I just have to say that seeing most of these women leave H!P when they've been in it since the beginning of their careers, is still sad.

Well, seeing as how all my favorite people fell underneathe that bracket, if they leave for good, I will also leave for good. The only other people that I care about are Kamei Eri and Michishige Sayumi. Other than that, H!P will just be one big old crap bucket.

O_O Holy shit that's a total curve ball.

I mean, this isn't a bad thing. For Nacchi and Ayaya and many others in the Elder Club it will be great because they can finally be utilized as the TALENTED ARTISTS they were meant to be instead of just sitting back and watching the Kouhai steal the show. A lot of them are too old to be Idol's now anyway and I'm sure they're going to take this a chance to grow as people and will do whatever it takes to still be active in the entertainment industry.

Don't worry guys, we haven't heard the last of the Elder Club!

Nooooooooooooooooooo........Im shocked. Why must they all leave...Ogawa Makoto hasnt even made a comeback activity yet...Fujimoto Miki...Yossie...Ishikawa (arent they supposed to be in a new Unit Hangry & Angry?)...

I probably wouldnt be surprised as much if this wasnt a mass-graduation...it's like UFA just decided to shoo all of them away at once...but then maybe this is their way of getting rid of them quickly. How sad, they were very same members who raised H!P's popularity and made it interesting. Bye bye Elder Club...=( I wouldnt mind seeing them all in AVEX and overthrow H!P since Goto Maki is already there XDDD

My initial reaction: o.o No.......... T.T

After reading over it again I came to think that it was good for them. Although I am a little confused since Yossie and Rika are in HANGRY & ANGRY. But that can always be moved.

I still don't completely like this news......................

But, I'll support them still. ^^

Does this mean Tsuji will never come back? Just leave. I am very pissed. But none of the elders are producing much, giving them a new agency will give them things to do. I am disappointed because Musume catches my attention but the elders are what keeps me around. H!P/UFA is stupid for doing this. And what about members who are about to graduate from Musume? (I hope to god none of them will though because I love every girl so very much) Maybe they will try solo careers.
