I was never a fan of Koharu, but it's still one hell of a shock for me! o__O
Still can't quite believe she is leaving... but I think this will be so much better for Morning Musume. I have always disliked that 'triangle' of Ai, Reina and Koha which has been taking place for a while. At last, other members can have their chance to shine. ^__^
Gonna miss her, though. I wish her good luck with her future~ :]
Truthfully, I thought Ai would be the next to go...

Bad news :( !!! kusumi has got so good lately!!
its really sad to see her leave MM, i really thought this line up would last for ever :(!!
BUT lets looks on the plus side! she plans to stay in show buisness. lets hope this secret training goes well, and we all end up seeing LOADS more of her! i mean who wouldnt hire kusumi??? <3

I never had much of an attraction towards her, but hearing this is a surprise. But anyways, if she wants to pursue being a model then more power to her. I'm sure she'll be successful @ it. Anyways, good luck in the future and she will be missed. T_T

I'm not really surprised at this, since this situation is so similar to Goto Maki's. I predicted this would happen sooner than this, even. X3
Still... it's a shame, because she's a major player in MM at the moment. :/ It won't be the same without her cheerful smile and bright energy!

Too many grads or leaves this year, TOO MANY. She was a very important member of MM not only from the image but from the sales too. It'll definitely be interesting how Momusu fairs after her leave.
....Sigh, i knew the line up was too good to be true.
....and to become a model, i'm starting to see this trend of bullsh*t, i wonder if all this quitting idoling for modeling is really true, i guess we'll see in a couple of months.

No offense to any of her fans, but personally this girl makes me want to shove a pencil through my eye or ear. Likely both.
Perhaps now there can be an audition where a girl or two who can actually sing is chosen, in the last few attempts so far the only once with -good- potential I've seen is Linlin in that department.

We knew graduations will happen sooner or later. I think the way it was announced it adding to the shock, it seems sort of sudden, and the fact that she's leaving HP entirely.
Personally she was pretty low on my list of favorites, so while the news of her graduation from HP is still pretty surprising, I have it admit I'm happy it is her and not one of my favorite members.

Surprising news, but not unwelcome news, at least for me (but it looks like I'm in the minority). Koha has long been my least favorite member of MoMusu and one of my least favorites in H!P. I wish her the absolute best of luck, but to be honest, I can't say I'll be at all sad to see her go. This will be the 10th Morning Musume graduation/resignation since I became a fan, and this is the only one I've ever been happy about. I've been waiting for her to grow on me for more than 4 years, but I guess it's just not gonna happen!
Will "graduating to focus on modeling" become the new "graduating to focus on studies"? XD
I hope this means auditions in the near future. And I'm really hoping they won't skip the auditions and toss a few Eggs into MoMusu instead or something. 'Cause that would suck. :(

As usual, there is something we are not being told. UFA is doing damage control. She either has a boyfriend or did something else "scandalous".
I say that because she had tremendous enthusiasm and popularity. From a career/business standpoint, this decision makes no sense with the available information. Hence, some critical information is being withheld.

Definitely agreeing with royalpalmtree and Ari-chan. I am not a fan of Koharu at all. Though I'm surprised she's leaving before Takahashi or Gaki ( I can't be too surprised considering their fanbases though).
Despite not liking Koharu, I wish her the best of luck with whatever it is she decides to do.

Big shock. I hate 2009 even more now that my current favorite member out of all of h!p is graduating. I feel like it's too soon for her to graduate...MM just won't be the same without her for me. I'll support her in whatever she ends up doing, just I'll miss her being in h!p. Good luck Koha~ T___T <3333

Well, it didn't hurt as bad as I expected. It's been a very, very long time since MM has graduated a member. Honestly, I would have wanted the entire group to be finished instead of graduating any of the members. The bond between them must have grown strong over the years. I don't look forward to watching the graduation segment of the next MM concert.
I really enjoyed Koharu's storyline. I remember watching all of the TV specials when she first joined and seeing her as such a normal girl, riding her bike around and stuff.
I think she'll be a great model.

Oikaze, thanks for pointing it out. I hadn't really considered it, aside from the obvious "Holy crap this is sudden." I don't often consider her fanbase or popularity, now that you're reminded us of the fact, it really does seem obvious. They wouldn't suddenly just bounce her out like that. I don't know if the intention to model was always in her mind, or perhaps it was part of the cover-up, and they just sort of tossed it out there so people wouldn't suspect anything.

I might add this happened just as I was starting to like Koharu again. I say "again", because I liked her at first (I still enjoy "Balalaika"), but then when they pushed her into the spotlight in Morning Musume and just about everywhere else, with her singing ability not up to what it needed to be, I became a severe critic.
But recently, I had just started to see an elegant woman develop from someone I had thought was too childish, and I found out about this just as I was about to compliment her in her thread.

You know, I've gotten so used to the current Morning Musume lineup that this news is still rather shocking to me. Koharu's never really been one of my favorites, but I do like her quite a lot. When she leaves, something will no doubt feel missing within Morning Musume.
