Wow, this is going to have an huge impact on AKB. Although to be honest I never really liked Acchan and with this other members will have chances on getting more of that screentime she's been hogging all this time. So while this is kind of sad, let's hope that it will have some good consequences as well.

The front girls of AKB48 have a ridiculous work load, and for some girls, the extra activities they have, such as various shoots, acting roles, commercials, and so on, makes things really arduous.
She has a dream, and wants to pursue it, and graduating means she can put all her focus on just that one thing alone, instead of trying to do everything at the same time - which to be honest she's done so far quite well!
I'm not shocked that she's leaving, but I am surprised as I didn't really think about it.
But she is very popular in Japan now, so the timing is good.
I hope she stays til Tokyo Dome concert!

It is possible that other older generation girls will consider this, especially considering Tokyo Dome - as the slogan they've had on their blog since December 2005, have been "The Road to Tokyo Dome".
It's quite impressive that they started out in their theater with very few fans attending, and yet still had the goal to reach Tokyo Dome.
Now they are going there, and some might feel that a journey have ended, while others still are on it.

Best of Luck to her. She is a talent, and it is apparently past time she spread her wings. AKB48 is resilient that way.
I have no doubt she will be able to keep herself in work as an actress (as long as no one see Maji-High Season 2 - KIDDING!!!)

i am not a huge fan of AKB but it really is a huge SHOCK that she is graduting since she is for most the most popular member and could be the most "important" maybe...wen i read this i started thinking if AKB sales will drop pretty evil of me but it's a surprise that she's leaving Good Luck to her :)

Well, this at least explains the Jurina thing. I bet Acchan'll stick around for one last senbatsu so they can milk her wotas for all they're worth and then she'll graduate at Dome.

huh, just when i've become a fan, she's already leaving. :( i didn't realize she was only 20 years old. i thought she was older. XD but that's good. she'll be leaving at the height of her popularity, and she's still young, so no doubt, she'll be just fine on her own. ^^ morning musume has done fine without aichan, akb will be fine without acchan.

With all her success and outside work she's been doing lately I don't see why anyone is surprised at this announcement... but eh, I guess the Western side of the planet isn't as attune to the news and signs.
I'm interested in seeing how this impacts AKB. Maybe the other members will have better chances now :)
