Maybe some of you already know what it is, but for you who don't: half-body bathing is really, really good for the health and really popular here in Japan. :) It's said to be good against colds, fever, stiff shoulders and neck, back pain, stress + it's also detoxing and if you keep it up, you might be able to concentrate a lot more on work or school. Why? Because many people belive that colds and sickness spring from "thermal unbalance" (the body temperature is uneven in the body, which of course is not good) and that half-baths can help fix this. :) Plus. you're sweating a lot while taking this bath (hence why it's detoxing). I've tried it a couple of times when I've had a cold, it feels really good actually. The temperature should be slightly warmer than your body temperature and you should stay in the water for about 20-30 minutes. I actually recommend it to everyone. ;)

When people talk about "half bath" they often explain that they do it, without ever explaining HOW to do, so others who are interested can follow suit ... Do you just not put all of your body under the water?

What ZetaCron said :l ...I've even tried looking it up and no one ever fully explains what a half-bath is. They just explain how it helps.

^ You fill the bathtub with water up to your waist, not more. It shouldn't be too hot, but warmer than your body temperature and it should make you sweat. I usually put some aroma salt in the water, it makes you realx even more. Then you sit there for around 20-30 minutes. In my house we also have a bathtub lid that we pull over or bodies, covering everything except the head. It makes the heath stay better and you sweat (detox) even more. It's really nice and I have japanese friends who do it almost every day winter time, cause it really heats up your body. Esp if you have that always cold hands/feet-thing going on. :)
