EDIT: But after thinking awhile, if its the case of changing companies for progress sake its quite normal especially if the singer is really a superstar-type talent and the current company just isn't doing enough for his/her own creative output.

Completely gutting and uncalled for if she's being made to do this because of her brothers actions; It's not so bad when it's cases like Yaguchi Mari where they want to move forward, but this smells of UFA 'damage protection'.
Really, UFA are destroying H!P themselves with stuff like this.

Her leaving may have been in the works. HP has never been very successful with its single acts? It states she is going to another label. This just does not happen over night, unless they are being confident that another company will pick her up. Her video's and her songs were starting to target a different audience and different flavour than HP is known for. So perhaps her brothers situation just moved things along faster?

To be fair, Goto should have probably left H!P long ago. They established her as the one, true superstar of Morning Musume, but after that had no real idea what to do with her or how to sell her.

With every ending is a new beginning. It is unfortunate that all these things have to happen at once... but it happened for a reason.. if Goto-san has conflicting ideas to how she wants to be from what UFA wants to project her then the incident with her brother would be that nudge her decision to move. Lets just wait and see. Goto fans will hopefully support her regardless of whose flag she carries. As for those who are not, dont freak out too much. 2008 is around the corner. Itll be a new year, and no one really knows where H!P is heading... self-destructing, evolving, hell crap happens... i think the question fans should ask them selves is "in this times, where will you be? are you in or out?" As for me, Good or Bad ill be there to support MM, both their old and new members... since I AM a MM fan. Semper Fidelis to all musukos out there!

Ok read the update and now it doesn't seem bad at all. Like castro1975 mentioned, it seems that she's going into a different direction than the rest of H!P so hopefully the new company will be able to support her better. Though I wonder what the new company will be. I suppose it's still something under the UF management since it only says she's graduating from H!P... Btw is TNX completely independent or is it in some way under UF management?

I'm sure Gocchin is keeping her head up through all this, as am I. This way hopefully she can sign with a label that is more into giving some creative freedom to their artists. I'm totally looking forward to hearing and seeing Gocchin's new path after leaving the strict H!P scene. Heres to the future |_(^o^)//

I'm happy that Maki's going somewhere else. Though I'm happy under the assumption that she's going somewhere that will actually take her to the next level. She just seemed way too talented to stay with H!P, especially the last 4-5 singles or so. Moreover, I don't think Maki leaving H!P will affect the company too much. It still has Momusu as a big popular group and Aya as a big popular soloist.

I'm actually really proud of her! The reason she left was because UFA wanted different things for her career and she wanted to control her own image. I hope that she won't do this "sexy" thing anymore and shall be the sweet girl she's always been.
