I have a friend who is Japanese and a chef...she always puts a half a bar of Hershey's dark chocolate into her curry. When I first saw that I asked her about it she said it was common and the other Japanese people there said they all do it...I don't think chocolate is that secret of an ingredient. I would like to try the fruit versions though :D

Actually coconut milk is one of the ingredients of making curry. Chinese and Indian curry that is ^_^. It is very delicious, as you siad ^_^
Japanese curry doesn't use coconut milk. Come to think of it, I don't think Japanese cooking use any coconut milk.
