this question really got them talking. watching the dance in slow motion is a good idea. the mirror thing too. but don't they look at themselves anyway? isn't there a mirrored wall that they use?

Gee, Ai-chan, the question is about you, not Yuuka-chan. XD
Reina and Aika have totally opposite answers. XD

Aika knows what she's talking about!!! Mental visualization is one of the best ways to practice. AFter learning the moves, just sit down and go through the entire song (moves and all) in your head while the song is playing. When you visualize the steps that come, you'll start to remember them automatically. A few days before competition or recital, or dance instructors would make us do that and it would help cut down people going to the wrong position or messing up the moves.

Too bad they couldn't say "watch dance covers by fans on youtube." I bet some of them do! Seriously sometimes fan dance covers give you a better picture of the dance than the official dance versions.

GEL -
I gather from Sayu's blog that after they spend a day learning the dance they get DVDs of it to practice at home. I've wondered before if the choreographer were nice enough to do it "backwards" so the girls could see it "right" from their perspective. Guess not...

@Glasseyelashes They mean they watch the reflection of the DVD player in the mirror, not themselves, that way the moves are right.

So many of Sayu's answers are really inspiring, this one is too! You should think like that with everything you try to learn, not just dancing. ♥

This was a really good question! I've been waiting for questions like this. Good questions will give a lot of good answers too.
Way to go Reina! XD (Although I think it does help learning it with your body, not over thinking it)

I like the Question since it's dance related ;P
Dont hate me for this (^_^")
I think Reina's and Sayu's answer were a little off since I think they thought it was a "Dance Lessons Question" and not a "Copying a Dance Question" BUT I did not say they were wrong :)
anyway I love Ai-chan's answer :) <3 There is an easy way to learn the dance... and that is "Follow the Music" ;)

As a dancer myself, I have utilized Fuku chan's method because I like stuff to be broken down for me so when it's done in realtime, I got it down packed. But, I must agree with Zukki on this one. There were always times where I would just repeat the parts I don't get right away over and over until I do it perfectly (and even in slow mo. Haha!) I have also taken advantage of both methods playing "Dance Central" on my XBox Kinect. Teehee!

They might probably watch but they don't copy. Where do the dance covers copy their moves anyway? From the offical dance versions of course.

I'm not used to seeing such a long answer from Aichan XD Using a mirror! I've never thought of that before.. I visualize in my head like Mittens and try it out, then watch if I got it right XD
...which is totally not as effective as the mirror thing, but hey I'm not a dancer anyway LOL

Instead of watching the TV in a mirror Riho and Yuuka, just copy it to your PC and use the horizontal flip function in video playback software. If your PC screen isn't big enough, just use the DVI or VGA connector on your TV and connect it to your PC. Too bad no one in H!P is very tech saavy.... oh well.

Wow, Ai put hella thought into this. lol Risa, the opposite. She gave a simple answer to a question she probably thought didn't deserve serious explanation. And unless the question was mistranslated I dont think Sayumi cared to pay attention because she answered another question she heard in her head. Reina & Aika Whatever. And as for the new bitches they're dumb and so r they're lame answers.

@ninety9nights Of course I know the dance covers are copied from the official dance version. However, I'm referring to ones like Osaka Koi no Uta, not that easy to see the dance shot version. The 9th gen members might have a hard time practicing with it. But a dance cover would be easier to practice that dance. Understand what I'm saying?

@zeroyon: I was thinking that as well. It'd be awesome if we had a tech savvy H!P member though :3 Niigaki's answer was really helpful xD I like Mizuki's answer simply because I've never done that lol. I usually just do what Zukki does.

I totally use Mittsi's method XD When I'm really concentrating on a dance, or I'm having fun learning it, I tend to think about it in my head whenever I hear the song. I occasionally do arm/hand movements if really into it, or by myself. But to learn it, I just use flipped (horizontal) versions of dance shots or covers; whichever has a better shot. I never use slowed-down versions because I cannot concentrate on the music properly and get bored of standing there for so long just for a small arm move... I find it a lot more fun to move around at normal pace and catch the major moves, and then start noticing and getting the smaller moves after mastering the big ones~ X3
But I find these answers really neat since most answered with full sentences and some even gave explanations XD And though I don't use it, I entirely agree with Reina's method <3

Good question^^ I've been waiting for it! It's also been troubling me for a long time. What I'm thinking about is dance really needs gift, well just like sports. Anyway can be improved by hard practice. Just start from a less difficult one .
