Congratulations to all 4 girls! Other than some disappointment about Aina not being chosen, I have no problems with the lineup, and I think for the first time in a long time, Tsunku made some good decisions. I will continue to support the new Kyuukies: Mizuki, Erina, Kanon, and Riho. :)

The 'older' MM probably will group more together as their ages and relationship are stronger. while the newer ones will probably clump together more. probably need ltime for them to mix in well.

LOL, it's not that they're "too young" but that you're not used to young Morning Musume members. Don't let ages fool you: some kids are capable of being just as mature as adults, and we haven't even seen their Idol personalities, yet. =3
In any case, I am excited to see how this gen works together. Though Riho and Kanon didn't come as a surprise for me, Ikuta and Fukuchan did. (I was expecting Mogi, instead of Ikuta, and no EGG.) Those chosen seem promising and I think that having two professionals (Fukuchan and Riho) there will help ease Ikuta and Kanon into the entertainment world, instead of solely relying on their senpai.
(I also doubt any MM graduations for 2011)

Congrats to the girls! I'm excited to see Riho in the group.. she has a lot of potential. And an Egg too! Yay! As mean as it might sound, I'm glad Mogi didn't get chosen.. she just wasn't ready to handle any of it.

YAY RIHO ♥ THANK YOU LORD. And OMG FUKUCHAN. She's sooo gorgeous! I was SO happy that she got in!! I was thinking Tsunku would add her or Konatsu.
...mmyeah I don't know about the other two yet. They were at the bottom of my list, but so was Nono when she first joined and she totally won me over. I'm sure these two will do the same :3

I'm glad Tsunku has decided to go to rehab and stop taking whatever drug he was on these last few years. Finally, some flawless talent is on the way, I'm actually looking forward to Morning Musume's new single. Sayashi Riho is my favourite for obvious reasons, looking forward to seeing more of her fierce dancing. The other three are pretty good, too. ♥

I couldn’t be happier with the results. My #1, #2, and #3 made it! The one girl I really DIDN’T want to make it, didn’t, and neither did the girl I was totally neutral about. I don’t follow the Eggs at all, so I have no idea who Mizuki really is, but I fully expected at least one Egg to be chosen (since it was announced that they could participate in the auditions), so there’s no surprise there. Plus, four girls were added. I wanted three at the very least. Four is even better IMO. Personally, I prefer Momusu with lots of members. There were 14 members in the group when I became a fan, and I wouldn’t mind at all if the number of members went back into the teens someday.
Tsunku, for the first time ever, you’ve done exactly what I wanted you to do! XD Like everyone else, I can't wait to see the 9th gen in action, and really get to know them.
As for the comments about their age, I wouldn’t say they’re "too young." Sure, they’re younger than the current Momusu, but more than half of Momusu's members were between the ages of 12-14 when they debuted with the group. This is nothing new, it's just something that hasn't been done in a while.

I'm happy too because he chooses two girls (Riho & Kanon) I had on my mind.
And I'm a bit sorry for Aina, but the other two chosen girls seem to be ok.
Now I'm waiting for their first appearance on TV together :-)

Technically, things won't change much. Morning Musume will be Ai and Reina as the lead singers and other members will be backup dancers. Kinda like C-Ute version 2.0. :p

If they're too young, then I think there will be about, give or take, 15 girls who would not have made it into MM.......
I'm happy for the new gen. I hope Mogi and Aina do not give up. Besides, when auditions come around again and they still want to join and have not done anything else, they can always come back. Reina had to because she was too young the first go around at camp and, technically, Koharu had to tryout twice but I'm sure Yama-P wanted her after some thought. I'm a little wary about Riho though....just am, nothing personal.

I'm excited for the new generation. I'm glad they decided to add an Egg as well to balance things out a bit more in terms of experience and age. Mizuki is absolutely gorgeous!
And Kanon is like the love-child of Michishige and Mano. But girl seems spunky, which is a nice addition since Koharu, Linlin, Junjun, and Kamei left.

Wow. It's nice to know that, even after losing the 8th gen auditions, Kikka was able to debut as a soloist at the same time as the 9th gen MM... I hope she has a successful soloist career! And Mizuki... I'm very happy for her because I've been a fan of hers since Shugo Chara Party. (She's a good TV host!) Looking forward to hearing more of the 3 new H!P/MM girls, Riho, Kanon, and Erina... Especially Riho... I kinda wonder if she'll be put in Shin Minimoni? She is quite small... LOL I'm really looking forward to seeing where the girls will end up when it comes to shuffle groups... And now the thing I want to know the most is what will become of the rest of the eggs? (Obviously Mizuki and Kikka were only two of more than 20 eggs...) I hope they get to do something good!

This is gonna be so fun!!! Love the new line-up! I love the age gap! And yeah, most of the girls started out that young so...
I hope there aren't anymore new 'emo' musume, although some good darker songs came from that era. Then again, now they CAN perform those 9-nin dark songs again...
S/mileage is the new 'happy' group. XD
Also, 12/13 YEAR OLDS PERFORMING KIMAGURE PRINCESS. DO NAT WANT.
Who will get Eri's lines...? It better not be Ai. I'm betting it's Riho or Mizuchii.

This seems like a fail from Tsunku. How the does he think this group will work with that big differences in age? I can't imagine these kids singing any of the recent MM songs plausibly which means that a complete image change will be necessary. I wonder if he's gonna make the past 20-year-old members sing Smileage type of songs.

^part true, the sexy image they were planning for?? where did it go? how can it be possible when these members are even younger than berryz/cute? generally for young members as young as 12 they dont give them sexy/ mature image yet. looks like they are going back to cutey style, though i do agree that this generation theres lots of potential, not much people complained because they were all japanese, and none ugly ones entered.

I think Tsunku actually made a good choice this time around. Picking Riho and Mizuki is absolutely brilliant on his part. As for Kanon and Erina? Kanon seems like she would turn into the next Kusumi Koharu. she reminds me a lot of her (Not in a good way) and Erina needs improvement. I'm looking forward to hearing them after they have gone through their vocal training. All of the Generation 9 members have great potential and I can't wait to see them preform!
I can't see the age difference as a big thing anymore, before when I saw the auditioners I couldn't help but think they are too young. True the Age difference is 12 between the youngest members and Ai, but it's been that way before. Also, with the addition of Mizuki, It kinda makes the gap seem, not so large.
I also think that gen 9 will be able to pull of resent songs.(Of course with no leading parts) They look much older than they actually are, imo

Plus they actually look quite mature.. I'm not really worried about the age thing at all.
Hoping for their debut single they got something like what "I Wish" was the the 4th gen. It had someone else leading it, but it still featured the 4th gen members alot.

It's not so much that they are "too young" but that the current girls were allowed to get "too old" creating this gap.
Thankful Mogi didn't make it because incompetence is not "moe". Maybe she can find success somewhere else but not now and not in this group.

Due to the current make-up of 5 nin MM, i can only see the casting of 4 young new members as a mistake. Tsunku needed to bring in at least 2 girls who were 16 -18 because i feel that from that age their characters begin to develop some substance.
Whereas having these 4 young members means it'll be atleast a year or 2 until we essentially see anything real from them apart from cuteness/shyness/youngkid playingup type characters.
Thats what i think people (myself included) who are saying they are to young actually mean.
So 4 members who had their own interesting individual personalities have gone in the last 2 years to be replaced by 4 members who are only gonna be the same bland Moe girls for 2 years.
If Tsunku wants to get back to the glory years this wasnt the way to do it.

At least he didn't add any 10 year olds. Lol. But again, if Yuko Nakazawa can be in the same group as 12 year old aibon and nono (who looked younger than these girls too), then I'm sure they can pull it off.
Don't say they don't have personalities other than "bland moe girls" before they even have a chance to prove themselves

Congrats to Momusu! To be honest, I was looking forward to some kind of release from the five member lineup... But this is great too. I loooove Riho. Some raw talent in MM. I see some awesome potential with these girls. Biggest addition to MM since 6th gen! It's really too bad Kikkawa Yuu didn't get in, I know according to the audition rules it was impossible, but something inside me was really hoping she would squeeze her way in... Her getting some individual recognition is almost just as good, though. :)

It's not really an issue of the girls being too young, more like Tsunku probably should've created a slightly larger age gap in the girls he picked. Sort of like how 4th gen had a range ( 12- 15 I want to say?) that helped them adjust to the much more mature girls. It's going to be very odd and segregated at first. Maybe they should do some trust exercises together....
I'm also wondering what some of the newer musume singles will sound like with higher pitches. Could be epic. Could be like nails scratching a chalkboard...

I'm very happy for Yuu getting a solo career. I think she already has a strong fan base, so she will do well.
As for the new members.. I love the choices. Mainly Riho and Kanon, but the rest are great choices too. They are young compared to the rest of the girls, but this will be good for them, they'll have more time to develop into an idol and they'll bring something special to the group. Plus, they have great senpais to lead them along the way.

I'm kinda lost in here... How do you all know so much about these girls?? Where were they before this? Doing what?? I wanna know!! Where can I see the things you know?? They look too young for me.. I know, most of Momusu were that age when joining, but stil... They also used to be a more "funny/childish" band, not the "sexy/mature" that they try to be know... I don't see this girls doing Kimagure Princess nor Aishite Aishite Ato Ippun...

@Lovely I-Chan -- I believe most of what people are talking about was on the show Bijou Gaku as mentioned in the article "After a lengthy audition and weeks of build-up via the weekly H!P television show Bijo Gaku". I've only had a chance to watch one episode so I don't know much about them either.
That said I think this is good for MM, I know my interest in them as a group has waned for awhile now and a change like this will get me watching them again. Riho and Erina especially look like they will turn into real cuties and I can't wait to see what each of the new members brings to MM. With the difference in age I imagine we'll be seeing changes in their music style but we'll see.
