What will always piss me off - YouTubers who do Dance Covers

youtube dance covers
What will always piss me off - YouTubers who do Dance Covers I recently wrote this as a post on NyNyOnline but I'd like to share my view here about something that pisses me off.  But it will always piss me off the way people do dance covers as soon as the MV is out and don’t even know half the dance because it’s not in the MV. -_- You can learn parts of a dance from the MV but not all of it enough to upload it!!

And then after I made this post, I realised maybe it’s because I do dance covers and love dancing that I feel this but some people really need to wait till comeback stages or properly learn the dance because some covers don’t look like they have effort in them and they are just for views and to be first on YouTube. Recently, Like This by Wonder Girls came out and already there are a few uploaders. The first girl who uploaded has over 20,000 views and even though she's not bad, I think to myself: "WTF? So quickly?" But I'm glad I don't see it the same with J-Pop - or at least I think so.

I know I'm not perfect in dancing myself. I started doing covers 6 years ago but I only started uploading them less than 2 years when I had the confidence. But I feel like some of the uploaders don't even look back after they've reviewed their dance and see whether it's good enough to upload, they seem to just upload straight away for the views.

Like quantity over quality >__< but that's just how I feel about YouTube Dance Covers. What do you think guys?

As a former dancer, I totally agree. I also have a pet peeve about people who say that its easy to learn the dance because they learned it in 30 minutes; but what they don't understand is that while it's easy to "learn" a dance, the hardest part is to make it look good (especially when there is a group like Wonder Girls, who must learn it and look cohesive---a group of one if you will). So the 30 minutes of knowing it turns into hours or days perfecting it. And that's what I would say 98% of the people I've watched have taken the time to learn it; but have by no means perfected the movements. It looks sloppy, rushed, and like you said, unfinished.

I would love to do cover dances, but I just don't have the time to do it the way I would want to. It would take too long for me because I'd probably do it over and over and over again until I thought it would be good enough to even look as if I was one of the girls dancing.....as if I was actually performing. I give kudos to those who upload though since I do not; but I would like for them to take it a little more seriously.
Yes! ^^ When people say they can learn a dance in less than a day or better yet, an hour. It's good yes but you need to make it look good and perfect it. Argh >_< I wish some of the YouTubers would watch themselves and see how they look. Not all are bad but the minority you can tell they just record once and then upload.
HelloNyNy are you aware you're criticizing Cuca too?
I agree on this. Being a dancer myself know how hard it is to really master something. It takes a few hours to learn everything, but it's repeating over and over for days in my head.

I never posted a dance cover because I haven't been confident to do it, but I'm thinking of posting one soon.
kantutanTayo: Why would I criticse her for? :o I think for someone of her age she's really good especially watching her do Mobekimasu, she sings and dances at the same time. Nothing I could never do. Plus I wanted her to audition for 11th gen before I knew she couldn't.

Mxrxn: I know how you feel. Even though I post covers, I still look back and think I haven't mastered some of the dances. It usually takes me a few days to get everything right.
The first video of Cuca's that I came across was her cover of "Pepper Keibu", and I have been following her ever since. I've watched her grow and improve over time, and I'm looking forward to her debut in Morning Musume, AKB, or wherever she goes. I have seen other YouTubers who act like it's easy to learn, after all, it's just a dance!! But what about the artist(s) who originally did the dance?? They put in hours to perfect it. The Dance Version of C-ute's Tokaikko Junjou shows just how coordinated they are, and that didn't come in just one hour of practice. Unless a person is doing a sort of "parody" of the dance, then they probably shouldn't upload...
I just feel that even though it's a dance and for some it's easy to learn quickly and really fun but some look really bad and their mistakes are so obvious, don't they see it themselves?

I know I'm not perfect. I've been told to smile more in my dances but expression has always been a flaw when I dance.
