A new anime based on Tanaka Reina's appearance and character has been announced. It will begin airing on January 9th, 2010 in Japan. The anime will also feature the voices of Tanaka Reina as the title character and Noto Arisa as a policewomen.

"Modeled after Morning Musume's Tanaka Reina, the on going 4 square manga series "Kaito Reinya" (Phantom Thief Reinya) that's currently serialized in "Shoukan The Television", "Gekkan The Televsion", "Gekkan Newtype", "Shounen Ace", "Comptiq" is finally being made into an anime! It has been decided to premier beginning January 2010 on KBC TV (Kyuushu Asahi Housou)!"

A total of 12 episodes will be made.
Characters: This new anime is not only modeled after Tanaka Reina, but she will also be providing her voice for the title character.
Noto Arisa from Up-front Egg will be voicing the character, Policewomen Nocchi.
The story: What is Kaito Reinya?
Modeled after Morning Musume's Tanaka Reina, with her Hataka-ben, the self-indulgence phantom thief, and the stupid police, will unfold the non-sense short comedy. Kaito Reinya is normally a clerk in a "Faminya" convenient store. With her sidekick Chu-Taro (A mouse), they come up with their treasure stealing plans in their hideout under the store. Near the Faminya is the Dai Edo Police station. There, the indecent inspector, delusional detective, and airhead policewomen dumb trio are persistent on catching Reinya, but are fooled every time due to their stupidity. Kaito Reinya is the non-sense comedy about these people.
