Seven of the most popular Morning Musume OG, namely Nakazawa Yuko, Iida Kaori, Abe Natsumi, Yasuda Kei, Yaguchi Mari, Fujimoto Miki and Ogawa Makoto, are forming a new unit named "Afternoon Musume δ". The new unit will be promoting Georgia coffee drinks and the first CM will be available to watch on September 7th at 12 p.m (JST) on the product's website and will air nationwide starting on September 8th. The series also stars actor Koide Keisuke, who has been starring in the past Georgia CMs.

They will sing an original song called 「ご褒美のアフタヌーンコーヒー」 (Gohoubi no Afternoon Coffee). No word on whether there will be a release or not.

Georgia is the name of a popular brand of coffee-flavored beverages sold by The Coca-Cola Company. It was launched in 1975 by Coca-Cola Japan. It has since expanded to markets in Singapore, India and Bahrain. Georgia enjoys the most success in Japan, where it is the highest-grossing coffee beverage. It is also the highest-grossing beverage by Coca-Cola Japan.

2ch speculates that a single release is likely

Tsunku attended an event on today for enka singers Karen and Akemi Misawa. During the event, he revealed that he is thinking of creating a female enka group called ENK48 (read as "Enka 48"), though it is not clear how serious he is about the idea.

He stated that he would be fine with assembling a group of 48 female enka singers. In contrast with the strict policies of idol group AKB48 (produced by Yasushi Akimoto), Tsunku declared that his members would have the personal freedom to be in romantic relationships. The group would likely be based in Shinbashi or Kinshicho (areas with large amounts of salarymen), and Tsunku imagined the group performing in a corner of a soba shop (as opposed to AKB48's theater located in a Don Quijote discount store).

Tsunku has been the mastermind behind Morning Musume and numerous other idol projects (Karen herself auditioned for Morning Musume but did not pass, and she is currently part of Tsunku's NICE GIRL Project). Tsunku also has experience creating songs for many enka artists. Because of the current dominance of AKB48, he has apparently been working on new strategies, and ENK48 is one of the ideas he arrived at.
