Ganbacchae! It's Alright!

I'm disappointed that Haruna wasn't one of the "sexy cats", but there's still enough of her in the video to make it awesome.

 

I find Sou Janai absolutely horrible as a song from what I've heard... I get the vibe of a C-ute song that one of the backgirls like Erika was supposed to lead that got shelved until recently. Maria is beautiful and I'm happy that she's being treated well and being given some spotlight, but an adorable teen and default special affects in Avid Media Composer can only carry a song so far.

The Sexy Cat Address, hm? I hope that we get some sexy president suit cosplay. And yes, Haruna needs to be center.

I like Dancing Heart and Hee Hee Hee, but I'm not so sure about the Angerme B-side with Maho center-sounding song just yet. That being said, I'm glad that Non is getting work.

Ayacho: She originally made an impression on me during the first time that I saw her 17 no Natsu performance as an egg. Her voice had a scratchy, grating quality that I liked, and I found her darker skin very pretty against her prominent white smile. Another thing was that her stage presence wasn't as professionally emotionless as that of the "darling" eggs at the time, (ie. Yuuka and her ilk.) I thought to myself: "Wow, this girl is going to piss a lot of people off and that's just fantastic". I laughed when she was chosen for Shugo Chara Egg, because at that point I knew that she wasn't going anywhere and there was nothing that anyone could do about it, (though, Akari was my favorite in the group). Her awkward smile, cute looks and blatant 1/2 tone deafness in her S/mileage performances only endeared me to her more, and it got to the point where she would always be my favorite in her group.

Nakky: A long-standing favorite of mine, she's held that position in C-ute for me for close to 10 years. Her voice sounds like she is singing underwater, it's bubbly, literally bubbly. Some idol voices that can pass as "bubbly" generally just have rapid vibratos, but Nakky sounds like her throat is full of air bubbles. Also, her original color being orange somehow made her more unique to me, that's a weird color. She has always been cute as a button, and I dropped Erika as my C-ute oshi for Nakky once I finally saw the Ooka na Ai de Motenashite PV some years after it came out. Too cute, fetus Nakky. Now she is a pretty pole-dancer as an adult and still my favorite C-utie.

Ikuta: Her AKB fandom was so political, it was hard to not pay attention to her when she got into Morning Musume. As more images of her surfaced, I knew that she'd stick with me as "a" favorite, but her personality and "awkward dude" stage presence is what made her "the" favorite.

Ozeki: When the Itoshiku tte Gomen Ne, video first came out, I noticed that Mai had baby Miyabi's face with Chinami's/Rika's "middle school girly boy that smokes" voice type, two of my favorite things. She even goes flat/has her voice die out at the end of lines like Chii/Charmy, lol.

OG/Graduated:

Kago: Ai Kago was my first favorite, the very person who introduced me to Jpop. She became my favorite after I stumbled across the Robokiss PV, with her cute face and voice. Her bratty antics sealed the deal for me, especially calling Yuko out on her age. I never really got to enjoy her in the traditional sense that one enjoys idols, watching them grow and the like because the year that I discovered her was the year that she started going off the rails, but at least she got me into H!P/Jpop.

Kaori: She was just in her own little world and got grumpy when it was interrupted. That's so relatable, don't we all do that? Her looks and voice were also my favorite of the original musumes. Her eyes and lips are to die for!

Miyabi: Will likely my favorite idol ever forever. When I saw her Zutto Suki de Ii Desu Ka? performance, I totally fell for her cool presence, looks and super girly voice. I am so glad that she was pushed hard and I got to enjoy so much of her during her time in H!P.
