Ah, since I can't see the future, I cannot predict how the PS4 will fare in Japan. But since I notice the absent Japan release date since E3, I am going to hazard a guess. Sony will concentrate most of its energies on US/Europe/South America and the BRIC. Japan will be an afterthought and will begin its decline to irrelevance in the wider console gaming sphere. Unless PS4 suddenly outsells the 3ds in Japan, i find this unlikely. But Japan is really a non high tech place though.

@snipey, back in the 90's Japan played a lot more type of games. Not just Nintendo or RPGs. AS I said earlier, except of the big franchises, Japanese consumers has shifted its focus to smartphones and to a lesser extent handhelds (Just 3ds though).

I don't know what may be the reason behind this. Maybe that kvlt tag from Metal giving credibility to a band who releases vinyl versions of their CDs has extended to Jpop idols and it passed inadvertently? Or maybe there was some people who thought Momoclo were bluffing at the moment of the announcement of the release of the vinyl?

Yeah, let us take things slowly and wait for TGS. Maybe there is a delay, but it won't be just because Sony is trying to ditch Japan, there must be a good reason. Possibly it is about getting Japanese appealing games on time, hopefully.

DRM doesn't bother me much, it's the developers' products, not mine - I just own a license to it, not the product. The region free is more annoying to me more than anything. The products don't sway me either way, to me it's quickly becoming a battle of which has better titles rather than hardware.
