No mano love..? Owo

Initially when I made the spreadsheet it was just for MM, BK, and C-ute. I didn't want to add too many groups because then the color coding might start to get confusing. But since I added s/mileage I'll consider adding Mano since she is a current artist.

Happy Summer wedding reached over 1 million sales a little while ago http://www18.ocn.ne....br/jp1msl_e.htm

Interesting information, I checked the sales listed for HSW on both Jpop Stop and J-Ongaku and both have the number that I do. Furthermore, the Oricon website says that HSW charted for 26 weeks, and Jpop Stop has the weekly figures for all 26 weeks. I'll change my chart if I can find an actual figure for the single thats over 1mil.

RIAJ doesn't just report digital sales. Supposedly they have a better system than Oricon regarding counting singles. I don't know details though.
It says "singleers" in that page so they're talking about CDs.

Also another interesting point. Does RIAJ actually release figures of their own?

Use google docs. You can import the spreadsheet and share it with everyone.

Thanks, I got it to work!
Here is the link my spreadsheet:
https://spreadsheets...=CJnc_KIK#gid=0

You will see three main columns when you open this, Total Sales, First Week Sales, and Subsequent Sales After 1st Week.

The third column is one that I like to look at. So much emphasis is put on first week and total sales, but I think the third main column should be much more noteworthy. I think it shows a better indication of promotion and popularity. For example, we know the popularity of Love Machine, in its first week it sold around 240k, but after its first week it sold a massive 1.4 million. More recently, Nanchatte Renai sold 55k in its first week and 15k in subsequent weeks. The last time MM sold more than 15k after its first week was in 2005. Mikan sold 28k in its first week but ended up selling 10.5k in its subsequent weeks which is a lot better than some of the other singles that had better first week sales. I think the point is that even though a single may have a less than desirable first week sales and/or total sales, that doesn't necessarily mean that the single was a wash. Of course there are other factors as well such as meaningful lyrics, graduation single, generation debut single, etc.... But this is just a chart simply stating the numbers so for comparison and analytical purposes, I find that third column very intriguing.

Now for each main column, there are a few sub-columns. They are basically, the Single Number, Release Date, The Single, and the Sales Figures.

Also, this chart is not limited to just MM, I have also included BK, C-ute, and S/mileage in this. The information is for all of their major single releases, so there are no indie releases, albums, single V, etc...

So in looking at the information so far for OOLG, it would have to sell approximately another 7.5k to reach 50k. The three most recent singles before that had the following figures in it's subsequent weeks: Kimagure Princess (8.9k), OgMNI (7.8k), Seishun Collection (6.7k). So it is entirely possible, and while the trend for subsequent sales seems to be decreasing, it has really been fluctuating all around between singles. Their lowest ever subsequent sales was actually Naichau Kamo (5.8k), but other than that nothing else has dropped below 6.4k, with the exception of Appare Kaiten Zushi. So I would probably expect this single to sell anywhere between 6.5k and 10k in its subsequent weeks. I don't have a set formula for that estimate, just a pure guess based on how they seem to be doing recently. Could they be out of the this range, that could most certainly happen as well, we can always hope for another outlier in the positive direction.

I will be updating this spreadsheet everytime a single is released for any of the four major groups, and will be following the sales. Also, feel free to let me know if there is anything missing.

Since a lot of people seemed down about the sales, I decided to do a comparison of first week sales for several of their singles:

Osaka Koi no Uta - 46,945
Sexy Boy - 36,531
Ambitious - 37,065
Aruiteru - 40,967
Egao Yes Nude - 40,884
Onna ni Sachi Are - 43,364
Mikan - 28,082
Resonant Blue - 49,386
Pepper Keibu - 38,596
Naichau Kamo - 44,121
SYO - 47,528
Kimagure - 36,274
OgMNI - 36,169
Seishun Collection - 34,122
OOLG - 42,025

As we can see, this is faring better than recent singles and has also outsold numerous of their older singles as well. I am very proud of this single's numbers and hope the girls are happy about it :) Considering the competition and the conditions under which it was released (all the other damn merchandise to purchase!) I think this is splendid :)

I have been compiling sales info for comparison purposes an excel spreadsheet detailing sales for every single, if anyone can tell how to link it from google documents I'd be happy to share
