In Topic: Ordering from Japan, "fun" with customs

17 August 2014 - 10:56 PM

If you mark it as 'gift' and get it from a company address (like CD Japan - which is 'Neowing Corporation') then it isn't eligible for gift status anyway - as the rules state it must be 'from a private individual', so if it's marked as gift, and has a company name, you are guaranteed to get customs charges, as it shows you tried to avoid them, so it really isn't worth doing that option if you are buying from CD Japan, or other such companies.

If you buy CDs or DVDs from Amazon, then you can do the 'pay customs up front' option, and they reimburse you if they don't get stopped for customs. It doesn't stop them being charged, but it does remove the handling fee from the other carrier, AND speeds up the entire process, plus you get a nice bonus if your items aren't stopped.

I was there, in my Chisa Happi. I saw a lot of Chisa fans, but they all seemed to ignore me, lol

In Topic: [7/5] °C-ute Concert in Paris

I enjoyed the concert completely, despite being disgusted and embarrassed by the so-called-fans (who KNOW about the no camera policy at H!P concerts, yet STILL flaunt it), but I seemed to be the only white person who actually furicopied or oshijumped, but I don't mind - it probably got me a bit of attention from the girls - or not.
Still, the girls were amazing, as always, and the set list was good.
I was impressed with the volume of decent LED sabres, and as always it was good to meet old friends, and make new ones (hello Crazed Lurker & Need More Buono! to name a couple)

To those who didn't attend the afterparty at the Oz Bar - you missed out on the best possible ending to an event. A gathering of many of the Japanese and western fans, and We took over the entire bar, and the bar staff even put the C-ute album on the music system, and we had an awesome party.

Sadly, I also missed the handshake, as I'd booked my train & hotel the day the concert was announced, before the handshakes were, but from what I saw, you all had a great time.
