It’s a sequel to the “755” story. The final stage of “UTB” competition became so thrilling. Jonishi’s been 6,000,000 views behind Furuhata till 9:00 p.m. May 3 (3 hours before the deadline). She began catching up from then. Jonishi was still 2,000,000 views behind at 11:00 p.m.. She tied with Furuhata at 11:30 p.m. and finally could get 1,500,000 views ahead of Furuhata. Both girls reached incredible number of 90,000,000 views. After that, “UTB” decided to append a supplement mini photo album of Furuhata to the monthly magazine.

 

“BOMB” competition was also exciting. When just after “UTB” competition ended, Kotani and Takahashi kept having a close game around 12,000,000 views. Yuuri had only 6,000,000 views at that time.  Encouraged by Jonishi’s come-from-behind win, Yuuri finally could overtake Takahashi’s views at May 6 the last day, though couldn’t catch up with Kotani. Takahashi's also done her best. She's got highest views as an AKB girl in "755” competitions. Yuuri’s been promised a supplement photo album like the one for Furuhata.

Another smartphone app “755” is one of the hottest topics among 48s fans, though I’m sorry the chat app seems to be regionally restricted. 6 competitions (by total number of 2 week views each girl earns) for 6 photographic albums by 6 magazine publishers are now in progress there. NMB and SKE were outsiders from 3 preceding competitions. These 3 have the same schema, i.e. a competition among 1 HKT and 2 AKB girls.

 

On Apr. 20, the magazine “UTB” begun another competition among Jonishi Kei (Team N), Furuhata Nao (Team KII, A) and Komiyama Haruka (Team 4). It became so fierce competition between Jonishi and Furuhata. Their total views are supposed to reach 120 million (i.e. to the population of Japan). 

 

On Apr. 23, another magazine “BOMB” begun the competition among Kotani Riho (Team N), Ota Yuuri (Team N) and Takahashi Juri (Team B ).  Kotani and Takahashi are doing good fight. Yuuri’s also fighting well in spite of her low degree of fame. I think it’s a chance for her to expand her supporters. In the next BII stage “Tadaima Ren’aichuu”, she could progress a little forward to the front line. It's only a year ago when she’s begun to be apparently promoted by the offices, by being picked out for one of two-top position (w/ Shiroma Miru) of the single C/W song "Yamae Ikou”. It took 2 and a half years till then from her NMB joining. She was selected as a member of next single title song “Ibiza Girl”, but by the well-known incident in AKB’s handshaking event, “Ibiza Girl” was not released as an single title song. It took one more year for Yuuri to be re-selected in the single title “Don’t Look Back!“. Her television exposure’s been also limited to very low level, even in Osaka area, till this spring.

 

- Was poker-faced and not good at dancing in her early NMB days, but is showing big growth against these problems. 

- Goes to high school from this spring.

 

- NOW everything seems to begin changing for her. She’s starting to appear in many photogravures and recently selected as one of the nominees for “755 (a smartphone chat app)” photographic album competition. It’s fantastic. Realistically, the chance of winning is against her. Her direct competitors are Kotani Riho (Team N, 4) and Takahashi Juri (Team B, one of the closest AKB friends for Yuuri), but even if looking thru the whole 18 nominees, Yuuri's name recognition degree is supposed to be dozens of times lower than those of other 17 nominees. All the same, that's why it's wonderful. She’s nothing to lose and I’d like to consider this competition to be a substantial debut for Yuuri to the 48s community outside NMB.

First of all, I’d like to congratulate KKS students on their promotions. It might be a best choice, if there’s no plan to launch a team like 4. Also I’ve heard once there’s a difference in wages between 48s regulars and students. 

 

It’s not certain whether it’s because of launching draft system, Team 8 and NGT, but really the whole 48s have tendency to recruit less students of existing style. I think the change had begun from the first students limited concert and AKB 15th gen students. Their debut timings had wide intervals.
