Just finished watching the full JMelo segment.

And holy carp Bankotsu, you're really good! You were just rolling out the lyrics so smoothly. Kudos!

I still prefer the original version of I Wish. I just don't get the emotional connection with this new version. I'm not sure if it is the music arrangement that is not doing it for me, or it is the way the girls are delivering the lines, but something is missing for me.

Overall though I thought Oda and Fuku-chan did a really nice job. Their voices had a "sweetness" quality when they were singing that went very well with the song. Unfortunatly I don't think Riho's voice is right for this song at all. And while thankfully she didn't have too many lines in this song, I really wish she didn't get that last line. Oda did such a wonderful job with that last high note and then Riho chiming in on that last line, kind of ruins the wonderful moment Oda just created with her high note. It's the last thing you hear and it just ends the song on a bad note. I really wish they had given that line to Fuku-chan or perhaps even let Oda sing the rest of it. It would wrap up the song so much better.

When they mentioned "sucess story" I think they meant success after graduation.

Haven't finshed listening to all the songs yet, but so far I'm not blown away by the remakes. The remakes are just "too much" for me. The only one that is sort of passable right now is The Manpower, and even that I think the original is still better.

The album has a uphill battle from the get go. Since most people (including myself) would say the original is better. Those are the songs that we "fell in love" with, so it will be really hard to make something that will transfer our love for the original to the new version.
