Good grief, that Dodds bloke sounds incompetent! Because he was a Senator. - Fixed
Also, I'd like to join in but Krusha has summed it up very nicely. Instead of censoring the government to protect their outdated business models, media companies should work with companies like Netflix/LOVEFiLM and the various VOD locations and music stores to offer products that people want for a reasonable price. People will always pirate, they have since the beginning of time and will continue to do so in the future. The laws exist to fight it, but it's up to the companies to do it within due process of law. Why does ACTA need to exist when what just happened with Megaupload can happen now? Just look at the success of Netflix, in the past couple years Netflix traffic has completely eclipsed p2p, the reason is because people (me included) would rather just use Netflix than pirate, because it's a good value for the price and is actually easier and offers things that piracy can't get you.
