As someone just getting into AKB48, this is very helpful. Thank you. Doubtful if OP returns, but my only comment would be, "Do what ya gotta do."

The problem I've noticed is that UFA could promote the heck out of a single, but if it's another bland song it's not going to matter. Conversely, there have been great H!P songs (ie. Berryz Koubou or Ongaku Gatas) that could've done well if they only had the promotion MM gets - or were MM in the first place. It was a mistake on UFA's part to attempt an emo mature-image for MM during the Platinum Years and giving all the fun-sounding songs to other groups.

The advantage, and probably why there were rivalries, was that the OGs had sub-groups. They had opportunities to showcase their abilities other than MM. Someone can improve as much as possible, but it amounts to nothing when they're still just another backup dancer going "ooh ahh" in the background.

The idea that UFA is trying to make another underdog story with the new members versus the OGs is another poor decision. Heck, not even Dream Morning Musume's own single "Shining Butterfly" was even close to MM's "Pyocopyoco Ultra." DMM, the supposed supergroup, can't even live up to their own standards.

Does publicly shaming MM make them want to work harder? Sure. I guess. But it also can backfire making the public think, "If former members don't support them, why should I?"

So I'm going to be the downer here.

Don't really dig the song. A bit too over-produced electronica mish-mash of techno beats, dubstep sounds, and whatever. It doesn't really matter if there was better line distribution if the voices are auto-tuned into oblivion. Which is a shame.

I guess management/Tsunku wanted to continue that high-energy techno theme that started with "Renai Hunter." Oh well.

I didn't think I'd see anyone wear MC Hammer pants again.

Sweet. Now I can finally wear my checkered rayon shirt, denim jacket and baggy jeans again... if I ever end up in Tokyo. Heck, I still wear baggy jeans... I just don't understand why anyone would want to wear tight jeans. Anyways...

So I assume they're not releasing the "Cha Cha Sing (Mall version)"? At least I haven't read anything about it.
