I currently have a potential person who may want to share a room with me and I believe I have room for 2 more (trying to go legit here and have the maximum legal amount of guests in a row, which is 4). That being said, I'm thinking of actually taken a hotel in Jersey, about 20 miles away; I'll be renting a car, so the commute will not be bad.

Right now, just checking it with my discount, the average night rate is about $95 for a 4 max occupancy room. I would probably ask between $80 to $120 per person for those 3 nights.

If there's any potential interest in this, feel free to get in contact with me

Yeah that's true, I might have to scale it down to 3 people, since right now, there are rooms that i can have double beds with a max occupancy of 4 people. Thanks for the heads up!

Chicago here..might be interested, my parents live in Kalamazoo..thinking of planing it but road trip sounds fun. Where would you be leaving from? Keep me in the loop! Definitely interested in discounted hotel rooms!

As of right now, I'll be leaving from Bloomington, Indiana; about 1~ hour south of Indianapolis, and I'll be driving up to Michigan. I live near Detroit, of a Suburb. Depending on where people live in MIchigan and/or Indiana, I can pick them up along the way.

Since you live in Chicago, I can try to pick you up along the way; if you're the only person who wants in, I can just pick you up and go to New York from there. However, if the majority of the people who want to go are in Michigan, I may ask you to take a MEGABUS to ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN (University of Michigan), and I can pick you from there. It'll be a blast.

Also, for the hotel, the hotel is NOT JUST FOR MIDWEST PEOPLE (if it was confusing), just for the road trip. I'm planning to bring a QUEEN SIZE air mattress, and a TWIN SIZE AIR MATTRESS, so people don't have to sleep on the floor. This is still just planning phase, and I'm pretty excited about it.

Right now, I'm planning to get one of those suave hotels near the venue, since I like to explore as well. My goal is to have 5 to 10 people staying over, at about ~$20 US dollars or ~15 euros. The more the merrier.

Just planning pre-advance right now but this may help people.

MIDWEST PEOPLE (Specifically Indiana and Michigan)

I was looking at renting a car from Indiana University (my current place of residence) and a 9/30 to 10/07 Rental with my discount, is only $180, or $115 if from 10/01 to 10/07. I was thinking of driving back home to Michigan for a day or so, and then drive to New York. It's an average of 7-9 hours, depending on how fast I drive. I can take 3 to 4 people, and I'm considering of only charging about $20-$40 flat, plus one full of tank gas split between all of us (I'm thinking an extra $15). 7-9 hours, that's like a bunch of IDOL albums you can jam and if you guys need food, I can take care of that.

HOTEL

I'll still need help on this, but I do not mind at all reserving it under my name and having people come stay. Depending on how many people are staying, I will charge a small fee per night, thinking around the $20 to $40 area. I am very flexible with price, if you need something a bit more leeway. However, I am still needing help on places to stay so I can make this happen.

If, at the very least, one of these methods (traveling or hotel) sounds good, contact me and we'll make plans to make sure this is great for you. Also, if you're not from the midwest, but perhaps in the way of Indiana --> Michigan --> New York, I may be able to pick you up.

I'm definitely going. Also, I'm down for reserving a hotel room and having people share if need be.
