The episode of 2nd of July on "waratte iitomo!" (Fuji TV) with Matsuura Aya was a popular topic. She talked about her driving license. Before the rule examination (it's a paper test), she was very nervous, so she decided to go to a place near the driving school so called "urakou" (literary: "hidden lecture" or "background lecture" or "behind the scene lecture"). Tamori (the host) didn't know about this "urakou" and said "It didn't exist in our time".

Aya was told by her manager that the examination day will be after three days. She started studing quickly while having a busy schedule, but she was still very nervous on the day because she didn't have enough time. So she used the "urakou" which only costed few thousand yen.

What you do at "urakou" is to listen to the recorded tape with a headphone that gives you expected questions and correct answers which are likely be given at the real exam. She explained in the program that she was told "if you remember all the recordings, you'll probably be okay with about half the questions at the real exam". And she actually passed the test.

Although this "urakou" is said to be legal, the name itself gives some people a negative image. So this article is showing some negative comments how some people felt, e.g.: "Is it okay to say such things on a public broadcast?", "Isn't it an unspoken rule not to say on TV?", "This is my first time hearing this phrase "urakou"", "Isn't the word "urakou", a yankee slang?
