In Topic: Lin Lin / Qian Lin (リンリン / 銭琳)

Not sure if it's been discussed here yet, but I just read the latest chapter of One Piece and a new character going by the name of 'Charlotte Linlin' was mentioned (for those who read One Piece the character is the last of the Yonkou - four strongest pirates - to be named). It's possible she was named after Momusu's Linlin. Eiichiro Oda knows Yaguchi is a One Piece fan and Linlin once appeared on a show with Yaguchi, so it's definitely not impossible~.

Just thought I'd mention that since I thought it was cool XD Sorry for disturbing the emotional atmosphere.

PS She's not a very attractive character >_<

a system that was otherwise much fairer than limited pre-sale signing tickets.

Limited? Aren't all the signings limited? Anyway like I said in the beginning, that depends on what you think is fair. To me, it's fairer for everyone if they removed the need for pointless queuing, removed the "multiple drawings + early entrance for French people", and removed the opportunity to so blatently cheat the system (i.e. photocopying tickets). They don't even need to get rid of the lottery, because when done right, a lottery can be considered the fairest option. Could easily be done online just like the ticketing system, but for free.

Therefore the probability of them winning wasn't any higher.

Maths was never my strong point so correct me if I'm wrong, but the probability of special ticket holders getting a winning ticket is almost always higher than normal ticket holders, just as long as they draw before the 1st normal ticket holder. The only case where their chances aren't higher is if none of the special ticket holders get a winning ticket from their multiple draws. If just 1 of them gets a winning ticket, then the chances of drawing one go from 100/600 to 99/599, and that's before the normal ticket holders have even gone in. Keep in mind that there were 1100 special ticket holders able to draw a total of 3100 times. If just a small fraction of those drew for MM, that's still a lot.

This is all assuming the staff member puts losing tickets back in, because when I drew for the 1st lottery the box was almost empty. If they don't replace losing tickets or if a special ticket holder can pull 5 out at once, then their chances increase.

tl;dr Probability sucks. JE autograph system is shit.

^Distance doesn't matter, a rich man coming from America will probably find the trip easier than a poor man coming from Spain (for example).

The probability of you getting a ticket was the same as all of us.

While it's true anyone doing the drawing was able to get a ticket if they were lucky, the chances of actually getting a ticket were not the same for all of us. The chance of a Platinum ticket holder (available only to French people) getting a ticket is 5 times higher than a normal ticket holder, and as La'aKea said, their chances are increased further by getting to go in earlier than everyone else. Many of us increased our chances by buying multiple tickets or exchanging them with others, but since we had to line up again I see no problem with that. You could also easily cheat the system by photocopying the same ticket which is ridiculous. I don't blame those people because I would've done the same if I could, I blame JE for making their system so shit. Keeping all that in my mind, I really don't see how that was "by far the fairest option".

I think people are entitled to whine when they've been screwed over and it was mostly out of their control. The FCFS for example was clearly a load of bollocks. No system will be completely fair but one where you could know in advance without having to queue up all night for nothing (doesn't even need to be a sold ticket if JE wants to act all righteous by giving them out for free) would have been a good idea for at least 1 of their 4 signing sessions. Whether or not they can/will do that doesn't really matter, I'm just stating my opinion.

La'aKea do you know more about the "premium ticket holders can draw more than once each time" thing? Like how many times a platinum ticket holder can draw? I'm still confused about that and it's the thing I have a problem with the most when it comes to the lottery.

@m(Vo_oV)m You got them all to draw something special, now that's amazing  And LOL @ the concert sign you...borrowed  Awesome stuff.

^But that wouldn't be fair at all, since only the people who got MM packs would get to go to the signing.

Depends what your definition of fair is. IMO the fairest signing in Paris was the FNAC one, and even that didn't make total sense (line up, find and buy CD, line up, show receipt at some other desk, get signing ticket, then line up again? Piss off). At AX they handed out the tickets for one of the signings a day or 2 in advance, and all you had to do was spend a minimum amount (or buy an album) and they gave it to you. They did a similar thing for H&A at Chibi Japan-Expo too. Given that there were 5 signings, I think selling signing tickets in advance for at least 1 of them would have been a good idea. Assuming they don't ###### it up and let only French people buy them.

And yes I am excessively butthurt.
