Yes, I've just noticed that Universus has uploaded kenkyuuseis self-appeal videos on the tracker (thus completing the collection), so that makes them all indeed:). So the official sites have a total of 98 profiles, but I think they omit some recently added kenkyuuseis... so many members, so little in senbatsu:).
As for the early rankings (mixi apparently is a good starting point, but its unreliable nevertheless:)):
- definitely disappointed with Sayaka's position. Honestly, I didn't think she'd have problems with getting to top 21. At least she's close, so here's hoping (especially since somehow I think its particularly important for her to get in to prove that she shouldn't have been taken from senbatsu).
- same with Meetan, although between her and Sayaka I'd have to choose Sayaka:) (still, I want both of them to get in...)
- while I did think that Amina and Akicha would get in (they are more or less in the same position on mixi, with similarly fast growth of fanbase), I didn't think they'd be that high. Not that I'm dissapointed:)
- at this point, CinDy and Yuka are in! YES!!! Keep it up! (CinDy I hoped would get in, with Yuka I'm surprised but happy)
- Acchan in first place, what a surprise:). Heh, she's not my fave but I like her, though that sadistic part of me would really like to see her reaction if she didn't make it (yeah right, like that's going to happen:))
- I thought that Love-tan would get in easier than Yukarin, but evidently I was wrong:)

Hope Haachan gets in but I'm not gonna hold my breath

Same here. I want Haachan in senbatsu, but unfortunately it seems rather unlikely:(. Shame, really...

So, shall we play the prediction game? Here are a few of mine, based on the mixi rankings (yes, I know I should take these with a grain of salt, but I just take them as a starting point - it is, after all, as rpger81 said, basically a popularity contest):
Apart from "obvious" members (Acchan, Haruna, Mariko, Takamina, Yuko etc.), seems that Sayaka has a good chance of making a comeback to selected members (she's been shunted recently, but maintains a fairly high position in the rankings).
Meetan seems quite likely to make it as well.
A lot less probable than these two, but Love-tan and possibly Yukarin with a bit of luck (but loking at the tendency she might as well end up close, but not selected).
In lower places, but going strong and with fair chances apparently are Akicha, Amina and maybe Nacchan?
On the opposite side, recently often selected Reynyan seems unlikely to make it (heck, she might actually have trouble getting to Under Girls even, although she seems to gain fans rather quickly).
However, my mistake is that I have no idea about SKE48's members popularity compared with AKB48's (I mean those ranked 15-25, not necessarily top 5:)). If, for example, Jurina gets selected, that means one less spot for AKB. Anyone has any more info about SKE in this respect (or maybe SKE's mixi rankings?)?
I'm also a bit surprised to hear that Team KII is involved in this as well (I thought they are too new and won't be included). Well, good luck anyway:) (or am I going to be surprised? Still, at lest it's an opportunity to actually see Team KII girls at all - we probably won't be seeing KII1 for a long time). What about Kenkyuuseis then, can you vote for them?
One more thing that occures to me is that while I consider this plan really mean to the girls (particularly humiliating to the less popular ones), from purely managerial point of view it seems like a good idea - possible extra cash (from additional CDs that wotas might buy to get additional votes for their favourites) AND free market research? Well, welcome to the world of business *sigh*...

Well, unless You have transfer limits (used to be common practice here in fact, horrible memories:)) or dial-up (some more horrible memories:)), it shouldn't be impossible if only You can have the connection for yourself and are willing to show a bit of patience. Even with 128 kb/s, it will take 4 days (as in 4x24 hours) and, frankly, that's not much longer than how long I've downloaded it originally (well, alright, it was 3 days only:)). Or perhaps You can just leave Your computer overnight and download bit-by-bit with jDownloader (I can send You step-by-step instructions by PM if You wish) over the course of a week or so. But all that aside, if You really do in fact still need those links in 3 months (which seems rather unlikely, but hypothetically), its not like I have hundreds of uploads to manage, so I'm willing to re-upload then if You want (just PM me at that time). So don't worry, one way or another You will get it:) (well, unless I get myself banned from H!O:)).

Phew! Sorry it took me so long, but I had to re-upload this file twice before it worked (first time it got corrupted again). For the 2nd half, only part 17 had to be re-uploaded, so here it is:

Tested in a fashion similar to the 1st half (downloaded, was corrupt, re-upload, download, replace, works) and since that seems to work now (thank You ryo48 for the information!), I expect the 2nd half to be fine now as well.
As for downloading it overnight, I use (and used today to test download to fix) jDownloader. I uploaded it on MF preceisely because it has least limits (even on my connection I DLed it in less than 12 hours). Anyway, I hope everything will be fine now.

OK, I've re-uploaded parts 2 and 6 f the 1st half (Part 28 seems fine, its just that the "couldn't extract" error always pertains to the last part, which is 28 in this case), and also downloaded them and replaced parts 2 and 6 of my originally uploaded files which I dwonloaded earlier (and which, in fact, didn't extract, with errors in parts 2 and 6, as ryo48 indicated) and this time it extracted fine, so it should work (but of course please tell me how it goes).
