I'm alive! I'm sorry I vanished for so long (real life is terrible and I took a break from fandom for a while). 

I lost my original Triangle Alpha script so I have to redo it >_> It's annoying but yes. Am working on it again. 

I already have too many plays to catch up on u_u 

Endless Sky doesn't seem very interesting to me atm. It's alright, but there is nothing special about it. I prefer Tsumetai Kaze no Kataomoi, it sounds a bit different from the other slower songs we've had recently. Also, I can imagine there is a cool choreo to this song - the beat is promising. 

 

I know myself, though. The dance and the MV play a big part of whether I like a song... so if Endless Sky has an awesome MV, I'll probably get to love it as well. And since these were only mic rips, I'll also wait for the recorded versions before I judge.  

 

The lyrics to both songs are really good though... they don't seem like they belong to MM's songs. Not that MM usually has bad lyrics... but these are so... coherent? 

Probably because I translated everything with the narrative of the song in mind, and not just blindly do a literal translation. It usually helps. That and Tsunku wrote both songs with a very specific theme/person in mind, so it's much easier that way.

You know what? I don't care what anyone says about these songs. They are perfection to me because of the lyrics. Now excuse me while I go cry.

I'm still in the midst of fiddling with how it would work, mostly because I really want to preserve the puns where possible. I'll probably go with really child-like phrases because that's my impression of the jellyfish. I'll probably put some placeholders first and work on the rest before coming back to edit I guess This will take a while I think

Fielding a question here to the intended audience:

In the play, the jellyfish language (suwasuwa-go) is essentially backwards Japanese with "suwa" tacked on at the beginning. As I am working on the subs, would you prefer if I translated the jellyfish language directly and just tack on a "suwa" to indicate that it's jellylingo, or go the Pig Latin route?

Example:

Original - suwa-kisu (unscrambled, it looks like suwa-suki....I assume no one needs translation for what suki means )

Straight Translation version -> You like-suwa?

Pig Latin -> Likeysuwa! (clearly, not orthodox pig latin, I'm improvising)

The straight translation is obviously less complicated for everyone involved, me included, although I could argue also that the Pig Latin version captures the original nonsensical nature of the backwards Japanese. I'm ok doing it either way, but I'd like an opinion on which version is preferred among people who actually will need/want the subs. You guys will be watching, I want to make sure everyone actually gets what's going on!
