In Topic: H!O Tracker closure let's talk about alternatives.

04 June 2016 - 11:19 PM

Wow can't believe this happened, just came for my random drive by and see the tracker is gone :( Want to say thank you to Haku for running this as long as he has, I'll always remember my time here.

I'm the former admin from AKBonline, it first started off as just a Wordpress blog I used to distribute my weekly encodes for people that wanted a direct download option. It eventually became too bandwidth hungry so I had to resort to bittorrent. I ended up using the same tracker service (xbtit) that is being planned by amorphous_mass. It's also the same one Avistaz uses. I'm not sure how it's been upgraded over the years, but I found it very limiting. Simple things like Bonus Points were "premium hacks" I had to pay for as well as other things just to make the tracker more friendly. Maybe being minimal is a good thing though.

Anyways I think overall JPS is the best, they use Gazelle which was more designed for music but because of that it's so much easier to categorize and search for things. Nyaa is public but good luck getting things to last there, the most recent torrent uploaded in the idol category has 5 seeds with 77 downloads completed. I have some JPS invites if anyone needs one, but I need proof of ratios on other sites for my own protection so PM me if you want one. Sorry :)

^I honestly don't like that conmparison~ and if we really want to be fair~ I would rather compare MM's Golden Era's sales of 5 years Comparison to AKB's beginning of their Golden Years now. Which is from 2006+. Mostly because we all know MM's decline started at 2006 and it gives them no justice what so ever, lol.

I don't really like the comparison either, the 2010 data Krusha posted for MM is just sad lol. However we can't really judge 2006 as the beginning of AKB's Golden Era since we don't know what the future holds for them. If anything I would start it at 2009, but even then their 2009 sales might pale in comparison later on in future releases.

MM Golden Era singles also had staying power. Love Machine never charted over 300,000 weekly but it continued to get steady sales week after week. Sadly AKB does not have this.

Skins fan by chance? :P

^^Ah I see now... says right in your first post that you are trying to get into them. Well I can say from personal experience that I was a 1 day old noob to AKB when I first joined the forum. I had to ask a lot of questions (no harm in that... "who's this girl" "what song is that") and eventually it all just starts to make sense. AKB can be quite overwhelming at first but over time you'll realize that it's not that much, just different than what we were used to from other idol groups.

Okay.... is there some weird thing going on here that I am unaware of? Does that website get paid whenever people post or something? Why are they sharing the episodes on the tracker but not the subtitles? And then why do other people here like you seem to support that decision?

1. Money? lol of course not, don't be silly XD
2. Subs are a privilege, not a right. No the AKBINGO subs will not be on the tracker, be thankful there are some other stuff we subbed on there.
3. I support it because I help make the subs and am part of the staff XD

Not trying to be a douche if I'm coming off that way... I just don't appreciate you trying to find a cheap way around to the subs. Is it that hard to make 50 posts... especially about a group you supposedly like? Is it that hard to chat with other people who also like them? 50 posts is nothing and there are plenty of discussions going on to where you can get to them in one sitting. Personally I think 50 posts is more than acceptable (hey I started out there as a noob too once) for 100 subbed episodes.

I'm a lot more into AKB now. I've been watching mostly Team K LODs and such.

Was wondering, Do any non-Team K girls have solo songs?

I know Oshima and Akimoto had stage solos, Ono a solo on Namida Surprise, and Ohori had a single. Any I missed?

Okay thanks, that was pretty much what I thought there was. So I guess the next question would be, does anyone here have those subtitles saved somewhere else where we could get them easy without going and posting 75 times, lol?

Absolutely not.
