As for scanning your materials and uploading them to picboard, it depends on whether such images were uploaded before or not. We do not encourage uploading of old pictures, as there is enough new stuff to upload every day. If you want to share self-scanned (and NOT altered in any way) photobooks etc, the best way is to make a torrent of them. But even though, first check if there is no other copy of the same PB active in the torrent section.

As for downloading pictures from the picboard, of course you are free to download any image you want, and then process it in any way you find suitable. But as Krusha said, do not upload the results (altered pictures) to the picboard again.

I am convinced that the "godfather" of the photobook had in mind a totally different meaning in Japanese which, of course, escapes me

I'm only going to guess (as I'm no godfather ) but Namamana is a palindrome in Japanese (syllables), ie. the first meaning is a wordplay, plus translation of "nama" would be "raw (natural, as-is)" if written in kanji, though they wrote it in hiragana to stress the wordplay mentioned above.

So "Natural Mana" would be the result. Although not 100% sure, I seriously doubt it has anything to do with Greek
