About Attending Events...

10 April 2013 - 05:19 PM

It's been awhile since I've actively tried to participate in this forum, but I'm kind of in a rut here about a couple of things.

So lately, I've been thinking about how all these events have been happening and have happened that allow a lot of people to meet up, and it's not just limited to one area. I mean we all want to at some point go to Japan and be a part of that "authentic" experience, but sometimes there's those magical opportunities to see what happens when things come closer to where we and several people can come together for something.

To name a few we've had things like AX, and Sakuracon, Japan Expo, the Buono event in Paris, Mano in LA, and soon C-ute going to Paris as well. And I've while I've only been to one personally myself, I've thought about how I handled myself back then and how I would handle myself now, not just because of my experience from it, but just how I've changed in regards of how I see myself to the community.

So I thought I'd ask you guys about how you personally feel about attending events.

At the same time, I have to admit I have an alternative motive here. You see I'm currently a bumbling college student, and I've been forced to work on a project regarding social interactions through technology. It's come to the final project and I needed to pick a topic. And since this thought kept coming back in my head every time I've run into other people who know about idols and what we do, it was the only thing I could put down.

That said I wanted to ask some anonymous questions:

An Anonymous Google Survey

Now I completely understand if you don't want to take the survey, and I totally understand if the mods want to give me a warning for this, but I also thought we could still talk about it. I mean survey or not, I wonder what other people think about it. For me I wonder sometimes if Invis, the person I say I am online is that much different from who I am in the everyday. And how  that comes out when I meet other people who may or may not be exactly the same as they are everyday as they are as their online selves. What do you guys think?

If you help me with the survey I don't need to know who you are, but thank you for it, and if you don't want to that's fine too. I don't carry a lot of weight in the community, especially over the past couple months (guess what caused that to happen ^^ *points at project*) but I've always enjoyed the kindness that a community can bring to someone in times of need. If it is a problem just let me know and I'll pack up the survey, leave the thread in case you guys wanna talk about stuff, cause that's cool, and try to find some other source of information. I'll join in the chatter too, but I don't want to immediately since that might distort any potential results I'll get.
