Topics I've Started

Ninety-Nine/Mechaike & Utaban/Tokuban

28 May 2007 - 01:53 PM

just had to make a thread/topic specially dedicated to these two duos who have made the world of H!P more interesting that most others. as Nakai once said in one Utaban episode, they are an important part of MM & H!P history.

to the forum moderators/administrators - didn't find a suitable thread under "Japanese Entertainment", so I thought I'd put it here, since they're very H!P related. if you feel it should be under "Talking Point", do feel free to move this topic XD

(1) Ninety-Nine (Nainai) - Okamura & Yabe
Probably more known to most H!P fans as the comedic duo who brought us the Bakajo test and Kusojo Test from the Okajo School, as well as the earlier Field Trip episode. They were also the comedic duo that covered the 4th gen auditions and introduced the new 4th gen members. Most would say that Okamura is the out-and-out favourite of the duo, which is not surprising, but it is important to know that Yabe is significant for H!P in the sense that he is personally close to Tsunku, so without him, we may not have seen the now infamous Mechaike specials featuring the MM members.

here's the wiki on them -> http://en.wikipedia....nine_(comedian)

one of the main reasons I'm putting up this thread/topic is that I found loads of Ninety-Nine/Okamura/Mechaike videos on Youtube. i just couldn't help laughing and cracking after watching them. there are just so many things to talk about.
a few that i'll mention for now:

Okamura vs Antonio Inoki ->
A lot of you may remember Antonio Inoki as one of the fav monomanes by MM members (in particular, Mako-chin) on H!M. this wrestling match between him & Okamura was just hilarious! ^_^ my fav part was when Antonio smacked Okamura's back after Okamura reached the ropes. Oww, that gotta hurt! :huh:

Kamen Norida FINAL with Okamura ->
Some of you may remember the Utaban episode with the Gokkies debut (http://www.hello-onl...mp;torrent=6979). Taka-san mentioned about an old show called "Kamen Norida", which he starred in. Well, I found an episode of that show on YouTube, which had Okamura as well. Funny as 'ell! My stomach hurting from all the laughing! XD

Okamura vs Hard Gay ->
Okamura was his usual funny self in this one, but admittedly Hard Gay (HG) was the star. This guy is truly talented, not just as Hard Gay, but able to do food decorations. Saikou!

here also are links to torrents of the infamous Mechaike-Okajo special episodes:
- Field Trip ->http://www.hello-onl...mp;torrent=4429
- Bakajo Test ->http://www.hello-onl...mp;torrent=1033
- Bakajo Test Extra ->http://www.hello-onl...mp;torrent=1038
- Kusojo Test Special ->http://www.hello-onl...mp;torrent=1275
- Kusojo Test Complete ->http://www.hello-onl...mp;torrent=1362

(2) Utaban/Tokuban - Taka & Nakai
Utaban is a famous Japanese TV show, hosted by Taka (one half of the comedic duo, Tunnels) and Nakai (leader of the famous boyband, SMAP). Eventhough MM/H!P appearances have reduced in recent years, Utaban still has a special place in H!P history. Past MM/H!P appearances are truly great, especially ones where Taka-san is making fun of Kei-chan. Ai-chan's Tettekette nickname also originated from Utaban.

here's the wiki for the show -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utaban

i won't post the torrent links of the Utaban episodes coz there are loads of them on the tracker! XD so just type "Utaban" and you'll get a whole list of them.

credit & kudos to all the uploaders of the various videos/files, both on the H!O tracker & YouTube.

hope to share your thoughts & laughter on great Ninety-Nine/Mechaike/Okamura & Utaban moments XD

Pani Poni Dash!

25 February 2007 - 12:40 PM

wow, i can't believe a topic on Pani Poni Dash! hasn't been started yet.
this anime just cracks me up! :wub: i haven't felt this excited since Azumanga Daioh! of course, i like the animes that i've seen since then, like Bleach, Naruto, Negima?!, Yakitate! Japan, etc, but truly hilarious animes like Pani Poni Dash! and Azumanga Daioh are the ones that get me the most :lol:
Some may not be able to catch the quick parodies they show, but this anime is just truly way-out wacky. no need to think, just sit back and enjoy the fun!

And I have to say, Ichijou could probably be my favourite character of all time. She started a bit slow in the earlier episodes but after, she just simply rules! ^_^

Go see it, ppl, you will not regret it.
And for those who have watched it, let's share the memories. I'm still at episode 15, so bear with me, ok, hehe :wub:

[HPS] Last Present

02 September 2006 - 09:34 AM

Just finished watching this movie special, after downloading it from the tracker. Didn't know where to post about this at first (General H!P Chat? Nacchi/Rika-chan thread? H!P Agency thread?), but then since HPS did such a great job subbing this, as well as re-seeding for us all, this topic BELONGS here :)

really, really loved this 1 hour movie :c16: for those who haven't watched it, it's was christmas special aired on NHK TV, starring Nacchi & Rika-chan. the story-line was simple really, but I thoroughly loved how a lot of things came together (read Spoilers below). Nacchi & Rika-chan also had a good chemistry together, & played the respective contrasting characters very well :c40:

Tried to find the DVD for this movie at the online shops but doesn't seem to be sold anywhere. Curious as to how HPS got to have it in the first place. Nevertheless, a truck load of kudos and appreciation to the HPS team for subbing & re-seeding this :)

I hope I can find more good movies/dramas with H!P members acting in them. If anyone know any good ones to recommend, do let us know :)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
______________________________________________________________________________

Like I said, loved the simple storyline, & how Nacchi & Rika-chan played their contrasting "Kyoko" characters very well. A lot of things also connected & came together very well, like these parts I loved:

- part when Nacchi's Kyoko told off Rika-chan's Kyoko for being spoiled, & then Rika-chan's Kyoko grabbed her leg & cried "Stop sounding like Yoshino". nice connection :P
- part when Nacchi's Kyoko told off Rika-chan Kyoko for drawing her with a sullen face, but then realised that she's always had that face & sadly didn't smile at Yoshino when they last met. nice connection again, very touching :crying

some funny simple moments as well, like when they both tipped their heads to watch a part of Yoshino's video.

Thanks again, HPS :)

H!P Duos

30 August 2006 - 05:24 PM

Couldn't find a suitable topic on this, so thought I'd start one up :D

After watching so many PVs & videos of H!M, in particular the new GAM video & the recent H!M episode (2006.08.27) with the new CM segment, a thought popped into my head - which duos within H!P rock our world? whether it be singing duos (e.g W, GAM), segment duos (e.g Mame-Eri), skit duos (e.g Yossie-Mako), close friends, or even so-called "lovey-dovey" duos (e.g YoMako, YoMiki, IshiYoshi), let us share our thought, opinions & love for our favourite duos :c16:

here are a few fav of mine:

Mame-Eri- With the new "Sweating" CM segment, it looks like Mame-chan & Eri-chan are continuing their wacky ways from the rollercoaster CM segments. with Mame-chan's outgoing character & great facial expressions, together with Eri-chan's cute, cooky & crazy personality, these two make a great combo & look to have a lot of fun together. the fact that both are close friends off-screen as well is also a plus to their great chemistry :D

Yuko-Rika- Anyone who has watched the Hello! Pro News segment videos know that these two can be really hilarious! Can say that these two have very contrast characters, but this works wonders for their on-screen chemistry. Rika-chan's "Charmy" personality is always fun to watch, & combined with Yuu-chan's yankee personality, these two newscasters are da bomb! ::P:

Yuko-Mako- These two were also together as newscasters in the news segment (which was renamed Hello! Pro Wide), which included Konkon as well. Again Yuko's yankee personality worked well with the wacky "P-Mako" :P
Mako-chin's "Rokurou" character also is just so much more hilarious with Yuu-chan around who just can't help laughing with "Rokurou" around! :D

YoMako vs YoMiki vs IshiYoshi- The so-called "love" triangle (or square?!) with Yossie at the center of it all. Of course, the MM members joke a lot on it, with Mako-chin probably getting joked on the most for "chasing" after Yossie. Love jokes aside, Yossie & Mako-chin are also probably the best skit duo. The Double Kazuko partnership is my fav :P To be honest, haven't seen much of YoMiki working together other than for Gatas. As for IshiYoshi, well these fellow Yonkie members are close, if u watch the many making of/backstage videos of them (see "Mr Moonlight" or "The Peace"). Their skits together are also great (see Ganko Ittetsu & Ganko Tomeko) & it's always fun to see Yossie picking on Rika-chan (see most H!M & in particular, this video -> click here).

Ayaya-Mikitty- Everyone knows, individually, Ayaya & Mikitty are two of the best vocals in H!P. Combining these two best friends together as GAM is a real dream come true for many H!P fans. Their debut single already looks like a sure Top 10, if not No. 1! ::D:

Aibon-Nono- They're not called the "Top Two" for nothing! I think Tsunku really saw a great combo in the making when he saw these two during the auditions & training camp. these two are obnoxious, witty, wacky, crazy & fun-loving right from the go, even when they met the MM senpais for the 1st time (being 12 really helped!). and that's why we love them! the Mechaike episodes (Field Trip, Bakajo, Kusojo) were real classics of these two & W fans know that Aibon-Nono are also a great singing duo. Hope Aibon comes back soon & revive these great partnership :wink:
